My fiancée and I decided to use Men’s Wearhouse for our wedding since they have rental suits instead of tuxes. The initial fittings I would give 3 stars, and then the delivery of the product is where I’d say one star.
The fittings seemed off for all the groomsmen. The measurements were taken sloppily for some while expertly for others. When I tried on my pants, they were incredibly short, but I was told not to worry, she was just making sure the waist fit and the length would be fixed to match the measurement she took when the order came in.
Then came time for everyone to pick up their orders. Store representation at multiple locations was scarce to say the least. At the Clay Terrace location, the employee was lazy and did not help my father-in-law, Bill. Bill asked where a shoehorn was, and the employee said “somewhere over there.” Bill asked where, to which the employee responded by saying, “I don’t know, over there.” At the Castleton location, the employee was on his phone a lot and I had to be very forward to make sure I could try it on and then subsequently get my rental fixed. Not the greatest interaction, but he was polite and respectful otherwise.
That leads me into suit fits. All around, like I mentioned in the beginning, we had asked for suits. Well, none of the rentals came with belt loops, so tuxes it was. Then, my pants were 6 inches too short (just like when I tried them on during the fitting. It obviously was not fixed as promised). Luckily, the seamstress was there and did an incredibly fast job fixing it! However, the best man’s dress shirt was entirely too big for him, groomsman 2’s jacket was too large, groomsman 4’s rental was all around too large, the minister’s jacket was too small, and the father-in-law’s pants were too short and shoes were the wrong size.
Thankfully I was able to get all mine fixed right away, and a few others had a morning pickup to remedy their discrepancies, but groomsman 4 and Bill were told they couldn’t be helped until 2pm (way too late). I realize things like this can happen from time to time, but this happened across 4 different locations. Very poor showing from Men’s Wearhouse, and it seems their business practices as a whole could use...

In the past, this Men's Wearhouse is something that we've used in our family forever. From my Dad, to other family members, weddings, and now me.
I walked in to get fitted to a new suit that I was going to need for family pictures that I would need to take the following week to Chicago. At the time, there was also a special going on with a buy 1 suit get 1 for $150 (we'll come back to this).
I get fitted, after trying on multiple suits. I am a short, stocky, and athletic build - basically meaning I have a massive chest, but I'm short so it's hard to find a suit that fits me and tailors to me the way I want it to.
The jacket I was originally fit to was "okay". Said we were going to adjust it the right way and that it would fit even better than original. I took the man who was helping me advice...
I waited a few days until it was time to go pick the suit up. I put it on... boom - button pops off and is too tight. (it's now 3 days until I leave for my trip).
My parents now have to come in and deal with this.
We get refitted:
We found out that the man who originally fitted me, fitted me to a size too small and the first words to come out of my parents mouth was that why would you fit him to a smaller suit?
So we get me into a bigger suit, and now it's time to order shoes. The shows are in... too big. We need to reorder them and have them delivered over night. I go in the next day, oh wait now they are too small. They were the wrong shoe in the right box... Do we not check what's in the box?
So now we have to order shoes AGAIN.
As I am still dealing with the suit issue and now the shoes issue - there is a new sign hanging in the main area when you walk in by the suits.
"BUY 1 - GET 1 FREE"
So I asked, especially with all of the troubles I had... was I aloud to take them up on the offer?
The manager almost laughed and said "no".
Are you kidding me?
2 Suite, 3-4 sets of shoes, and 1 unhappy customer. and you can't take care of your customer...? Not right.
I've called in twice and haven't had a call returned.
Unless something is done, they just lost ANOTHER...
Read moreWe used Men’s Wearhouse for our groom/groomsmen tux rentals and were less than pleased. There seemed to be a lack of attention when fitting several of the tuxes, many of the groomsmen reported the associates were not paying attention when taking measurements, which resulted in several last minute adjustments needing made. We were told the tuxes would come in no later than 2 days prior, however the majority of them were late; one individual was informed the morning it came in that they only had a two hour window to pick it up if they wanted to be able to make any adjustments. Two individuals were never contacted that their tuxes had come in, when we called ourselves to ask about this, we were informed they did not have enough time to be notifying individuals that their tuxes were ready. There were also issues with individuals being able to get fitted, we had two groomsmen tell us they had to go to multiple locations to try and get fitted because when they walked in, the stores were not able to accommodate them. One of the big issues that we also had was in being able to get anyone on the phone to talk to. None of the stores would ever answer their phones, which would have made a lot of the issues less critical. Our groomsmen had to go to multiple stores because they couldn’t call to see which ones had the staff available to fit them, we had issues with pickup because no one would answer when groomsmen would call to see if their tuxes were ready for pickup. One of the groomsmen watched an associate physically unplug the phone line because it was ringing too much… which would explain why they don’t answer…. One of the main reasons we went with Mens Wearhouse is because we had groomsmen who were not local, and we wanted to make it as convenient as possible for everyone to get fitted. In hindsight, after all of the issues we experienced, it would have been better for everyone if we had just gone with...
