California Burger — Restaurant in Indianapolis

First of all, I respect any establishment that makes their own ranch. Any person who loves ranch and puts it on everything should too! I loved this ranch! It was so good, but watery. I was careful though. Definitely will buy it again with my food. The Jalapeño poppers were hot cheesy and a good size. If you are wondering, they are the ones with the real cheese in them, not the cream cheese. They were so good it was difficult to compare them to Church’s Chicken Jalapeño poppers. I’ll definitely get them again with my burger. The cheese sticks are good, cheesy, fresh and a nice size, but compared to White Castle, they need more seasoning. The veggie burger is good if you are a vegetarian. I do not eat beef so I decided to try the turkey burger and the veggie burger. I prefer the turkey burger over the veggie burger. I asked for extra secret sauce with everything on it and they delivered, but turkey burger all day. If you are a vegetarian, I highly recommend. I appreciate that they have a variety of burgers. If you are watching your carbs or cannot have gluten they have a lettuce wrap. The turkey burger was delicious. The meat was well seasoned and juicy. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Trying California Burger for the first time. Parked to go in but learned they are drive through only. Got back in my car and noticed s couple cars in the drive thru line so i pull in behind them. I don't see any place to place an order though. Get to the window after waiting about 5 minutes. Ask to place my order and she said I need to place it at the board on the other side of the restaurant. I tell her there was no indication that's where I needed to go on the drive through sign on the door. Can I just place my order? No. I drive around to the other side of the building and there are now 5 cars in line to place orders plus others on the other side of the building waiting for their orders. It's very unclear that's how it works. There were no cars at that board when I pulled in. The person at the window could have easily chose to apologize for the confusion and take my order. Instead she caused me to go someplace else for dinner and I won't be in a hurry to return. Very bad...

My wife and I wanted to try something quick and convenient when I picked her up from work, when I noticed this burger joint that took the place of the old Long John Silver’s. I had heard about it and it being 10 at night and McDonald’s basically the only alternative, we gave it a shot. The reason for the 4 stars is due to service being a little slow and uncoordinated. The fella at the window charged me for someone else’s order, then fixed it, then tried to give me someone else’s drinks, which he also promptly corrected, all while being apologetic and thanking us for our patience. Once we finally got our food, everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Their burgers were tasty and the ingredients seemed fresh. My wife’s spicy chicken sandwich was on par with any other good fast food. The fries were hot and crispy. The jumbo shrimp were also very good, especially with the decent cocktail sauce.
