I booked the True Renewal package for my sister's birthday. For the black sand treatment, you are laid on plastic in a cold room, and a scrub is sparingly spread on a small part of the arms and legs in a few rushed minutes. The back and sides of my body were never even touched and no pumice stone was involved. Definitely not full body as it was advertised. The attendent would leave the room without covering me back up properly and spent most of the time trying to get the shower to work. They admitted they did not have the proper head covering and tried to stack a towel on my face as they repeatedly told me they were "winging it". The shower portion ends and you are laying in a puddle of water. Now dripping wet and freezing, I asked if there was any way to make it warmer and they said there wasn't much they could do. For the remainder I am visibly shaking with teeth chattering. The attendent layered additional towels on me and said they wouldn't bother uncovering me for the massage, acknowledging there was no way I could relax while it was so cold. Overall it was unceremonious, disorganized and astoundingly dissappointing. They did not have the special birthday goodies waiting for us as promised either. We received a bite of cheesecake as an after thought after I repeated it was my sister's birthday despite calling ahead to arrange. We were willing to splurge on Woodhouse thinking they would make it a special day, but it ended up being a very impersonal and...
Read moreThe facility gets a 1 because it lacks everything and a 4.5 because I enjoyed my facial, ie an average of 3. They have no extra's - steam room, sauna, mist, pool, jacuzzi etc. They do have a salt therapy room that costs $65. The average price on the west coast starts at $15-$25 in salt houses. The cost to the Spa to build the salt room is less than the other facility options they lack and are typically provided for free at luxury spas. The locker rooms are extremely small, 1 shower, 2 toilets and very little room to move around. I had a facial and they had nothing to brush your hair afterward. Apparently they ran out. I went into the waiting room which is also extremely small. There were 2 nice adjustable lounger chairs with headsets. Loungers didn't work but I was lucky enough to grab a worker who turned them on. Then the headsets didn't work, no worker available this time. It was impossible to relax as people were talking and in a small area it becomes disturbing. Beverages are limited to water or cinnamon tea. I'm used to 2-3 water options and multiple hot water/tea options. I had a facial as they had no availability for any other service,. My provider was wonderful as was the facial. The prices here are too high for the lack of facility. And the excuse they have limited space is just that, an excuse! I reviewed 10-12 Woodhouse spas online and all lacked any facility option but all charged west coast Burke...
Read moreI wanted a professional and clean establishment that could do a high quality gel manicure. Found this location online and booked for the following day which was a Sunday. I'm from out of town and was really happy to even get an appointment. I arrived 30 before my appointment and was quickly greeted and shown the amenities (Locker room, Quiet Room, Himalayan Salt Room). Waited for my manicure and at the time of my appointment I was led back to a different room. Honestly, I've had much better manicures. The technician accidently cut my cuticle making me bleed. When I left I realized my nails felt sticky and were collecting lint. I washed my hands but apparently there was a step the technician missed that would have solved the issue. When I called to discuss the issue, the manager at first didn't know if she could get me in that day to address the issue. She kept saying that they had other commitments to clients and asked if I could come in another day. I said no that would not be possible. She called me back and asked for me to come in about 10 minutes before they closed. I went in and the technician did apologize. She wiped rubbing alcohol on my nails and they were no longer tacky. I didn't know that was even a thing. The three stars is for the location, amenities, and professionalism of the staff. I took off 2 stars for the quality of...
