This place is HUGE and such a nice retreat from the heat outdoors. There are two distinctive sides filled with restaurants and a couple shops including a few bars.
Service at each restaurant I tried was phenomenal. I went on a weekday (Monday) so it wasn't terribly busy, but there were people inside eating.
I tried the Hot Honey Fried Lobster sandwich from J's Lobster & Fish Market. It was $24. Although the bun was soggy at the bottom, it was a tasty morsel if you like lobster. I couldn't taste the hot honey, but the lobster was enjoyable. They served it with cole slaw and a mixture of two different potato chips. I would have enjoyed the cole slaw more on the side than in the basket alongside the lobster roll since it became warm. Service was quick and it was a large portion.
I also tried the Greek Style Fries from Mama Fofo's for $9.95. It was a generous portion and some of the best fries I've ever had actually. Covered with a lemon-type of dressing drizzled over the top along with feta cheese, it was exactly what I had hoped for. I enjoyed every last french fry!
I also tried the pork/leek dumplings from Lil' Dumplings Noodle Bar. I got about 4 large dumplings covered in chili sauce, onions, and a few other fun toppings. It was medium heat, it says 2 out of 10 on the board. I found them to be a bit spicier, but very tasty and filling. $14.88 for a serving.
There are plenty of tables, long ones, tall tables, and other areas to sit for individuals, couples or groups. There are also a set of restrooms, ATM, and a parking pay station inside. Plenty of parking right on site - $6 for...
Read moreExcellent Gluten Free Options! My family and I were able to all try different places. While they took this opportunity to indulge in the rare opportunity for glutenous meals without me (xD), I immediately went for the Azúcar Morena (Venezuelan Food), as the Garage Hall website (as well as the Azúcar Morena website) highly advertised them as Gluten Free. All of our food was absolutely amazing for pretty good prices! The arepa I got was only $14 (pre-tax) for the meal deal: A shredded chicken, avacado, and mayo arrepa with Lays potato chips and a soda (Sprite). My father got a Fish Sammich, fries, and glass bottle of Coke from J's Lobster & Fish Market, and my little brother got a Stromboli, breadsticks, and a Cherry Coke from Abbiocco. Everything was amazing and hearty, for roughly $20 a meal (mine was $19 and change with a $3 tip). In addition to the food stops, there are also other stores and services within the whole classy-looking indoor-outdoor setting. The tray system with the food was a bit confusing since there weren't any signs or instructions that we could see, but someone very quickly found us and took our trays. Highly recommend! This was so simple and so so...
Read moreWent for my birthday with my wife. On it's own, The Garage is packed wall to wall with interesting and exciting food venues, trinket shops, and bars. The atmosphere is electric on a Friday night, offering a more social experience compared to a standard bar scene, with the ability to still converse without yelling at the person next to you. The area around The Garage is also great. There's lots to do, including Pins and a movie theater with live music. We stayed in the Bottelworks Hotel for the night to stay close to the scene.
Beyond the aesthetic and food, what makes the garage truly unique and enjoyable is the workers. Every one of the restaurant workers and owners are incredibly friendly.
Finally, this is experience would have been vastly different if not for the Supervisor: Vic. Vic spent the time to give us an in-depth tour of The Garage. And while were learning the name of restaurants and bars, I noticed that all of the vendors knew Vic by name. It shows that he works at those relationships and I believe it may be the secret to success for The Garage.
10/10 will be spending much more time here....
