When you just can't handle the morning... there's one place to go! When the menu is small & changes weekly, you know it's good!
Love Handle has trumped the skill of soooo much flavor in a little bite. Their sliders are always a must when I'm making a stop here. Although it changes every week you will always get delicious flavor, local flare, served up on a homemade biscuit. Slide on over and get one before they're gone! These babies never last long.
Chef Chris Benedyk doesn't miss a "beet," always serving up a delicious concoction of fresh innovative flavors, using local produce & meat. This beet hash was my jam. Delicious beet hash, seared salty pork cheek, perfectly cooked sunny side egg, and a side of crispy toast topped with apple butter and pork reduction butter.
Update: Love Handle 2.0 now located at Mass Avea
The space and the menu are a little bit bigger, but every bite is still on point with concoctions of flavor combinations and delicious local product!
Spring is here and love is in the air, at least at the south end, you can smell the deliciousness! Now this is how you do brunch! Put aside that basic b breakfast and step it up for your tastebuds, after all they do a lot for you! A delicious and inventive brunch menu that seamlessly transforms into delicious dinner fare. Using local product and house made sauces, Chef Benedyk creates a unique, quarky, crace worthy menu. From hardy sammies, and stick to your ribs specials (like fish fridays), you won't leave hungry, only wondering what have you been doing with your life! They also feature local tinker coffee, beer, wine, and even a few cocktails! Like their Tangquet, only brilliant revolusionists in the culinary world would think of such a thing a TANGQUET! Who needs O.J, when you have a sweet sour boozy concoction like this!
We usually end up getting one "entree" with a couple sides. Which are barely though of as a "simple side." A variety of eggs (chicken, turkey, & duck) try em one, try em all! Crispy pork belly amd a variety of norm amd adnorm options. Today we went with a duck egg, it's much larger than a chicken egg amd has a hardier wilder flavor. It's brightly colored yolk is sure a show stopper! Beautiful sunny side duck eggs, you think you know eggs - then you taste this guy! Bacon takes a back seat to breakfast here! Side of yummy pork belly please! One you go belly, you never go back.
Our main event tonight was the chicken schnitzel! A buttery crisp waffle topped with a crispy salty chicken schnitzel a dollop with miso tangy lime butter and dripping with sweet and spicy hot honey spun my taste buds into euphoria! Chef Chris & Ally have a view on food like no one else! Who would have thought lime butter chicken and waffles? Um they did and I'm singing praises!
Their new location has plenty of seating, so bring the whole fam! Keep an eye out for their special movie nights and other events. Come with an open mind amd empty belly and I promise you won't be...
Read moreIn town on business and had breakfast with an old friend. Decided to stop here, and it was great. Interior is best characterized by me as rustic eclectic with tons of throwback artwork and relics adorning the room, making it cozy. A little minimalistic in the self-service with utensils, which I loved.
Most important thing, if you order from the menu, written in chalk on the board to the left at the register only, as I did, it appears you get at or just over a nice portion serving, leaving you fulfilled....not stuffed to the point your instantly regret it...a rarely in American dining.
I had the waffle egg and meat, and I chose pork belly as the meat. The waggle filled the plate as you can see, the fried egg I added cheese-I thought I ordered scrambled but blurted out fried with cheese and the pork belly all sitting on the waffles was nothing short of to die for. Strongly suggest stopping by for breakfast.

Read moreWe stayed at Bottleworks Hotel across the street (5 out of 5 stars BTW) and wanted a hot breakfast. After surveying the options near (walking) and far (driving) we elected to go to Love Handle because they had what appeared to be a decent breakfast selection. Upon entering the atmosphere was average for such an establishment. Nothing special or offensive. Upon reviewing the menu I noticed the breakfast offerings were kinda strange. Traditional items of eggs and waffles etc, but the meat offerings were strange. My wife asked for bacon and was told the breakfast meats were: Pulled Pork, fried chicken, and beer battered shrimp. Ok, chicken and waffles hits a mark with some folks, but beer battered shrimp and pulled pork? No. I got a combo with biscuit (on the side) eggs and gravy over a fried chicken breast cutlet. Eggs were ok, gravy ok. Chicken flavor was ok, the massive amount of batter greatly overwhelmed the chicken. Then the pool of cooking oil under the breast (you have to drain it folks before plating) made it kinda gross. The biscuit was dry, hard, and cold. Overall I was just praying it stayed down and wouldn't visit me again with a bathroom vengeance. Surprisingly it didn't. My wife had jalapeño grits. The flavor was ok, but the grits were runny and would jiggle like soup when the bowl was moved. Literally liquid grits. She couldn't eat but a little. We paid $43 for these abominations and 2 drinks. The lady taking our orders was very unpersonable and had a "hurry up, you're bothering me by ordering" attitude. Perhaps she was having a bad day? Ok, food was disgusting however and her attitude seemed echoed in the food itself. We WILL recommend Bottleworks to any and all, but will leave this place on the avoid...
