Ocean Gardens — Local services in Islamorada

A must-visit if you are visiting Islamorada. Filled with authentic artifacts, recovered treasure coins from shipwrecks littered off the coast, and even a huge cannon dating back from the 16th or 17th century. A gorgeous array of different colored coral heads, sea glass, décor items, and shells large and small that are better than Shell World's collection by far as they are actually intact and chipped or broken. EXTREMELY well kept and clean. I come here almost every time I'm in the Keys. Just to give you an idea of the customer service here. Back on my 13th birthday, it was the 1st or 2nd time I had ever been there. The owner actually gave me a large-sized white coral head I was interested in for free (almost made me cry). Elegant, beautiful pieces, unique art, but terrible customer service. It seems like the moment you walk into the store, they assume you are going to steal something. I've been there several times, always bought some sort of decor for my home, and last Saturday I bought a lobster for my boyfriend's new house. Brought my twins and daughter-in-law. The ladies who work at the register are definitely not the owners, otherwise they would treat customers with more respect and stop following you around every single square of the store, not to help you but to make sure you know they're watching you. My boyfriend and I feel very uncomfortable with the "staff attitude" every single time we are there. Last Saturday the "cashier" was rude and arrogant. We absolutely love this place! We stopped in our visit to the keys in mid December and found unique treasures here! Timeless decor that will always remind you of the coast. Classy not cheap trinkets. From the rare authentic Atocha shipwreck coins, to candles, octopus sculptures, succulents in driftwood, light fixtures, corals, gorgeous coffee table books, all things coastal! Next trip I’m bringing an extra suitcase to fill with items from here. Phil and the staff are amazing, so friendly, informative and welcoming. A wealth of information about the area too.
