Kohl's is not my regular shopping stop because it's too far from my routine errand path. I had a particular reason for being out in the Columns, so I looked around Kohl's. Oh my gosh! I have been missing out. Within a few minutes, I found a blazer that I had to have, and a few effortless minutes later I found the faux leather pants to go with it. This wasn't just impulse shopping, I've lost my way regarding my fashion zone, what looks good on me, flattering styles, appropriate for my age and lifestyle, etc.. So, I was excited about finding the closet at kohl's. I liked that I didn't feel crowded in by the merchandise, I had room to breathe. When I paid for my items, my cashier was so sweet and friendly. She offered me the store credit card which I declined, but she was full of information about the benefits that made it very tempting. I went to the Sephora section while I was in kohl's. I didn't see what all the hype is about. I expected better, more (?). The two young ladies were very nice and bubbly, and cute. I was wearing a new, white sweater and I got a grease pencil makeup on it. I hardly touched anything in the store so I don't know where it came from. The giggling girls told me that alcohol would clean it up and they offered a spray and paper towels. It didn't clean up at all. I took my sweater off because I was concerned about the makeup getting on other things. At home, I tried numerous methods to remove the makeup but nothing worked. I'm very good at fabric care/stain removal, so I was angry about my new sweater being ruined by something that I didn't even get into and couldn't correctly identify. I'll definitely be back to shop at kohl's, but I will not go back...
Read moreThis place is definitely somewhere that is a source of bewilderment to say the least.
For starters, the building is nearly the size of the mall in Jackson, maybe a little smaller. No kidding though, direction signs would be helpful lest you find yourself in an endless sea of bras and panties, or bath and bedding supplies. Although some might find that to be just what they're looking for.
They do have good deals occasionally, but their entire rewards system and Kohl's cash is cumbersome and nearly impossible to navigate without two or three calendars. Most often, a return visit is required to enjoy their discounts.
Don't get me wrong though, everything in the store is "marked down," from the astronomical price up in the heavens to the normal price that might be found elsewhere. Ordering online, if you can wait a day or two, is almost always a better deal.
And I might have just answered my own question regarding Kohl's, which is: Where is everyone? This store seriously reminds me of our horrible mall, as it goes downhill. There are literally no people there for the majority of the visits I've made to the store. I would even make a small wager that they can't be around for too...
Read moreI used my Kohls cash ($10) to pay for some pants that cost $7.02. The clerk gave me back $2.00. I asked why only $2 change was given instead of the actual difference. The manager came over and said she had to give me what the computer said and could do nothing about it. Although it was only $.98 I told her the computer was no good at math and to just refund the money and they could keep the pants (as I had some difficulty returning something prior to checking out). She then hands me a receipt (that said I now had $0 in kohls cash) and tells me to leave. I asked why I now had no money and no pants. She proceeded to yell at me and said that it was after credit or something. I told her I wasn't familiar with their terminology or policies, and she told me to go shop somewhere else (and I am quoting her). This was in front of other employees and customers. I have no idea why she had so much hostility towards me, nor do I care to return to that Kohls again (and I shopped quite...
