I'm not even sure where to begin. Living at The 200 has been the greatest living experience my family and I have ever had. Rhonda (property manager) and Doug (maintenance) are absolutely phenomenal to say the least. The 200 is constantly kept in great shape and kept extremely clean. My partners and I moved in back in February of this year, and honestly do not ever want to leave! This place is more than an apartment, it's a safe community that sincerely feels like home. It's controlled access so you don't have to worry about random people strolling through, plus we have a secured package room that prevents theft. The other tenants keep to themselves and are also quite kind, which you couldn't ask for better neighbors! Never any noise complaints, fighting, or anything that would make you not want to live here or feel safe living here! You're also allowed either 2 dogs/2 cats, or 1 of each according to the lease, so they are pet friendly as well! Also Doug and Rhonda are constantly hosting fun community events for us to participate in, like our Spring Succulent event, Pizza Day, Donut Day, and more! So there's always fun events to be a part of and really feel that sense of community, again all optional if that's not something you're interested in.
As far as commodities go: The 200 has all BRAND NEW gym and gym equipment, even including free weights! Kiss your gym membership goodbye! And again, it's controlled access for tenants only, which means more privacy to workout if that's your thing. The units are all pretty much brand new, being built back in 2020 with Solar Energy panels on our roof as well, you can expect to almost never lose power, and if so, just for a mere few seconds before that backup generator feeds that stored powered from our panels. All the appliances are also brand new and very large. Large fridge/freezer combo with an ice maker, stove/industrial sized microwave combo, and even a dishwasher built in too! Large deep rounded kitchen sinks as well, which is perfect for cooking and dishes!
The 200 has a large main floor common area with a large plasma screen television and furniture. Along with a private business room open for tenants too for all your office needs, including a printer if you need to use one! All included.
On our roof level, we have a large open balcony area included for throwing parties and get-togethers, guests are welcome! This includes patio furniture and even a brand new grill open for use!
The downsides: You will have to pay for City Parking in the back. It's Orange Lot, and as of this review, around $60 per month just so you're aware. Sadly no, there are no other options or discounts for this. So be prepared to have to pay for parking every month to live here.
Overall, living at The 200 has been life changing for me. For once in my life I truly feel "at home" when I get off work and enter those doors. If you come from a hard life or living in rougher conditions, you'll feel just right finally being able to let your hair down...
Read moreMe and my significant other lived here for a total of 10 months and here are the pros and cons as well as the cost of living at the 200 apartment building.
PROS New/Modern appliances and look
Downtown, so you're close to bars and nice restaurants.
CONS Have to pay for your own parking at your own home (50$)
Homeless people CONSTANTLY coming up to you asking for money and rummaging through the garbage. (Had one come up to my car door and attempt to open in with me in the drivers seat asking for money as well as one cornering me in the trash area threatening me etc.)
Events downtown causing people that do not live there taking up your parking spots that YOU pay for causing you to part 0.5 to 1 mile away.
Manager attempted to tow my vehicle without asking me to move for no reason.
Manager succeeded in towing my significant others vehicle because she had nowhere else to park due to events, again without asking to move causing us to pay 160$ to retrieve her car. (No refund was given)
Weird sub-charges showing up on our resident portal even after we had already paid our rent, utilities, etc.
Could hear the neighbors upstairs thumping 24/7 even though we had a 12ft tall ceiling.
Only utility included is trash.
Cost of living here is nowhere near worth it. Here is a breakdown of what it would cost to live in an apartment here.
950$ Base rent for 666 sq/ft (1.43$) per sq ft 35$ a month for pet, non refundable deposit of 300$ 50$ a month to park at your own home
With a pet you'd be paying $1,035 a month for a small 1 bed room apartment.
Without a pet you'd be paying $1,000 a month.
After 10 months we decided to move to the alpine lake apartments. Our total cost of for living here is $1,135 a month. The appliances here work just as good as the new ones and we get DOUBLE the sq/ft! 1,200 sq/ft 2 bedroom for only $100 extra of what you'd be paying at the 200. Also, FREE PARKING and we haven't seen a homeless person since we left! All utilities except electricity are included! Also, all of the nice restaurants and bars are only 1-2 miles away from the alpine lake apartments.
Regardless of how much the other reviews praise this place, DO...
Read moreI lived here for 13 months, and (unfortunately) had to move out of state for work. Rhonda and Doug are the best manager and maintenance duo in any apartment that I've lived in. They handle any issues very quickly and are always available. The building itself is new, packages are stored inside (safely and away from heat), the elevator is large for moving furniture, and there is a small gym in the building. Parking is controlled by the city and requires an Orange permit (paid to the city of Jackson), but is only required M-F 8-5, so for anyone working during those times, no permit is required. Would absolutely recommend living here to anyone looking for a...
