We fished with Captain Brad and Captain Steve this past Memorial Day holiday weekend. These guys are absolutely the real deal – in all the best ways. Great fishermen, great people.

We were a family of 5 (mom/dad/2 brothers/me) who coordinated for a two-boat excursion (2 + Brad in Brad’s catamaran and 3 + Steve in Steve’s boat). This allowed for plenty of room to lounge-out while we cruised to the fishing spot (took about ~30-40 minutes) and while we shuffled around the boat reeling in various types of fish throughout the day.

Their attention to detail was fantastic – both were super attentive, made us feel extremely comfortable and at ease the entire ride. We caught LOTS of fish and even one of the biggest of the season so far – a ~40 pounder King Mackerel. Each person on our trip got to reel in at least 2, some 3-4 fish per person. Every time we had a “FISH ON!”, Steve taught us how to grab the rod, effective reeling technique, how to steer the boat managing other fishing lines that were still dragging in the water, hook the fish, and all while he ensured fun tunes were jamming and someone had plenty of space to take a video/pics – the entire “process” for each fish was seamless, exciting, completely non-stressful and a BLAST.

Honestly, even if we wouldn’t have caught a single fish, this trip would still have been FANTASTIC. It was a beautiful day, no one needed Dramamine at all (few of us were a little nervous about that at first), the music was fun (and can pick whatever you want via Bluetooth!), the captains taught us a little about the wildlife/shoreline in the area, and in general their company was just lovely. It felt like we were all hanging out as pals.

Also – they even filleted/cleaned the fish we could keep for us at the dock and recommended a local spot nearby that cooked it up for us for lunch (a few pieces we had fried, a few blackened, and a few grilled). Yummy ending to a perfect day.

We went out in the boat with Brad and can’t wait to go again!!!! We had a blast catching kingfish, false albacore, sea bass and even shark! Wow what an experience! If you haven’t been or thinking of going- GO!!!! Go a whole day and you’ll have a blast! He’s engaging in conversation and helps with catching the fish, baiting the hook, and reeling in the lines when one of us got a big one on! What a day!!!
