Please do not let this photo fool you. I haven't been this disappointed in an experience in a long time. When me and my friends arrived we were greated and told it would be a few minutes wait. They gave us a pager and we waiting. The pager never actually went off and thankfully we were close because he verbally let us know our table was ready. The service was very VERY bare minimum, horrible, and unprofessional. It took 10 mins for our server to take our drink order. Another 10 to get the drinks. We were interested in the build your own charcuterie board but there wasn't a list of options to pick from on the menu. Took another 10 mins for him to circle back. We asked for assistance with the options which he said they had a separate menu with the items on it. I'm thinking why not give each table this list to save the hassle.... Waited 5 mins before getting the menu. The photo I posted was the medium size and was $49. That board is enough for 2 people and maybe a 3rd if everyone eats very light. I also opted to do the bottomless mimosas. I ordered sweet with orange juice and it was literally the worst mimosa I have EVER had! When he finally came back around I asked for another with apple. That one was ok but I didn't taste much champagne and it was very weak. I paid for the bottomless mimosa which was $19.95 and the service was so horrible I only had the 1 drink the entire time. I literally could have paid $8 for one mimosa. I'm thankful that another team members brought over our food which was hot. The food was served on a ugly cutting board which I wasn't expecting because of all the pictures of it being service on the circle wood and some had tiers. The food was just ok. Nothing special. It's like theme park food sort of. Super expensive and nothing special. Once we were done we asked for the check. We waited 20 mins and still no check. He came back and asked if we were ok and reminded him we been asked for the check. He brought the check back back and walked away. We waited so long that time that we got our drinks and to-go boxes and walked up to the server with cash in hand to check out. Needless to say I have never had such a ridiculous experience at any restaurant and beyond disappointed I drove over a hour to have basic food and horrible service. It was a few other things that happen but I wont bore you further. Just know this is all show and nothing that will leave a...
Read moreAs a previous employee, I have a lot to say. First of all, save your money. Go to Walmart and get your own groceries. This place will charge you 500% difference to make their money back. $3.50 for a glass of juice that they purchase $2.50 for at WALMART. They do not use sanitizer in their dishwasher. They “polish” their glasses but these glasses come out with junk all over the glasses. When I took the glassware and bar items back to the dish pit to be cleaned and sanitized, I was told to bring it back. It wasn’t Sunday. They only wash FOH items on Sundays to start their week fresh. Also, 85% of the staff on weekends are high school help. I think they’re all wonderful individuals but they are mistreated. They work long hours and are severely underpaid. Tulua is breaking labor laws. The youth should not be working 7-9 hours a day. Thats the law, but the law doesn’t matter there. But they continuously break laws. Especially health standards. Please use disposable silverware if you eat here. Please do not use the glassware. It is not safe. I beg of you. I don’t care if I get in trouble for this post. But everyone deserves to know. Especially the owners. Be better. Also, wait staff is not permitted to have a break for 8 hours. A 20% discount is applied to your food. Please,as a parent,do not allow your child to work here. Also, you will be paid by cash app or Zelle for your pay. You will be ridiculed for speaking with the kitchen, when you’re only trying to do your job.
If I can only say one thing it is this:
Clean your dishes. I have never felt so disturbed serving customers dirty dishes. They’re all dirty. All the time. Get it together. The average price for two people to dine is $77. Be better. Be better owners and give a hoot about what you’re doing for the community and not just try to collect a check.
There also isn’t proper hand sanitizing stations. The water behind the bar is nearly out of service. It’s not warm, the sink is broken. They don’t wash their coffee pots, it’s disgusting. The hand washing sink in the kitchen doesn’t warm up unless you run it for 5 minutes. It’s just all around not sanitary.
I hope the youth that work there (14-17) do not get injured. One did just last week from a glass that broke. The owner took care of the situation, she is actually a great individual. But the entirety of this company needs to be changed or fixed or...
Read moreWe were excited to celebrate our friend's bday brunch at Tulula's! We had never been but heard it was a fun experience.
It was a TERRIBLE experience. There was 5 of us, and my friend's daughter NEVER received her acai bowl. The waiter served 4 of us, asked if there was anything we needed, we said just the acai bowl. His response was, "I'll go back to the kitchen and fight for it," NEVER TO RETURN! The manager on duty made an appearance to let us know they put a "rush" the acai bowl AFTER we had all finished our breakfast....Time to brush up on your Webster definitions because the word rush means to move with an urgent pace.
At this point we were ready to leave and had already decided to go to Fl Juice & bowl for an acai. Finally, our waiter came back to provide the bill. He ran the cards and low and behold....icing on this terrible cake....we were charged the 18% gratuity since their policy is automatic gratuity for 5 ppl or more.
Hilarious, since the 5th person NEVER got her meal. Our waiter said they ran out of a lot of ingredients but he failed to follow up and see if my friend's daughter wanted something different. We talked to the manager about the automatic gratuity, she offered to make an acai bowl to go free of charge but there was no way to reverse the automatic gratuity. I asked her how they were going to make the bowl since our waiter already said they ran out of most ingredients. Apparently, that was a LIE!
Then, our other friend let the manager know that a biscuit almost chipped a tooth because it was as hard as a rock (days old). The manager said they would have replaced it if this was brought to our waiters attention. We let her know that our waiter NEVER once checked on us the entire time after serving 4 out of 5 meals. The manager said she would review the camera to validate the lack of service. I let her know I'd wait while she reviewed the camera. She said unfortunately the owner wasn't there and she would have to review during the week and call me. Like that call was ever gonna happen🙄.
I would give less than 1 star if I could. Just be honest and do the right thing by people!!!! I promise, it's really not that difficult. Not to mention, it was hotter than hell in the restaurant. You can't cheap out on AC in...
