Coastal Occasions — Attraction in Jacksonville Beach

The day of my wedding I will say ran beyond smoothly! But leading up to my wedding day I can’t say the same for leading up to the wedding. Let’s start with my wedding being booked for the wrong day. I contacted Natalie 5 months before my wedding about this and she never responded. Never even got an apology. She “didn’t receive” the email. Mind you I found out that she never got the email 3 WEEKS before my wedding. I had to move all of my vendors and all of the personalized items now have the wrong date. I’m a pretty reasonable person but when something that major gets messed up and no apology really get me frustrated not even a slight care that it was messed up. One of our best friends that was in the wedding party couldn’t come because he’s in the military because the date was wrong. The venue is absolutely beautiful. The vendors I had were AMAZING! But the coordinators here are not it. Natalie had someone else come set up my tables and she never even introduced herself to anyone so we were all confused when this random lady came in and started to move things. Also I was told the lights would be fixed inside of the bridal sweet they never were. And one of the windows were completely broken and missing from the front of the building. I had a scheduled appt with Natalie at 6:30pm to look at the venue. I had a friend come in town to look at venue with me. We arrived at 6:30pm. We were greeted by the paint instructor that teaches classes next to the venue. She attempted to call the owners and left a message. I then called and left a message. Waited another 5 min, called again in which Katie answered the phone to let her know we were going to leave as it was now 30 min past our appt time. She requested us to wait and she would get in touch with Natalie. Approximate 5 min later Natalie called, apologized due to some child care issues in the beginning of the day and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I politely said no as this left a bad taste in my mouth. If she was having child care issues earlier in the day, one courteous phone call during the day would have been acceptable. Instead she chose not to call at all and I had a friend come in town for this. As I spoke to Natalie on the phone, she didn’t really seem to care if I planned a wedding at their venue or not. She was just like....oh well! Not sure how you will stay in business with this kind of customer service. A wedding is a big day and your venue of choice not showing up for a first look is a definite red flag. This does not leave a good impression for your organizational skills....

I couldnt have been more disappointed with Coastal Occasions or their "planner" Katie C. After paying a $500 deposit, scheduling and paying deposits for vendors and ordering save the dates, Katie C asked us to CHANGE OUR WEDDING DATE because another couple "somehow" booked the same date. Another big disappointment was after being told we could pick any street by the beach and picking one, Katie C told us they could not do the Northside which was NEVER discussed previously. On top of all of this we never heard from Katie C again! My now husband and my family were transferred to another state and we had to move up the wedding. We did not get married at Coastal Occasions. Six months till the wedding and upon date of next payment we have still yet to hear from Katie C. It took me this long to write a review because I was completely heartbroken as I loved the beautiful venue. Nothing about Katie C helped us plan even though we were willing to pay $1000 for it. She gave us more headache than help by far!!! I would NOT recommend Coastal occasions to anyone and definitely would tell everyone to stay FAR AWAY from Katie C as she does not care about you or your big day!
