So impressed with this place. 2nd time going. We went last year in May and this year in April. It literally is the PERFECT location. 2 short blocks from beach. Amenities are such fun for kids. 4 foot warm salt pool, love it. High security for access to the hotel areas. Gym, if you want to get a quick or lengthy workout.
Let’s not even start mentioning the unlimited coffee in the lobby. And by coffee I mean a beautiful espresso machine that will give you flat whites or cappuccinos or a combination of whatever you want. My family and I decided to take advantage of the courtyard grilling area, and we bought burgers and hotdogs and corn and potatoes, and we grilled both of the days we were there and it was just amazing. They have everything you need to go out there and do it, including even spices and things like that And we truly truly enjoyed it. So it was a great way to enjoy the place, but also maximize monetary wise if you are going on a vacation on a budget and are willing to cook for yourself. I think the only thing I could possibly think of that potentially the staff could think to have for the grilling area, would be to have disposable aluminum, trays, almost like baking trays/sheet pans, so the customers can put the raw food or cooked food. Honestly, we had such a great experience, that we even left some of the spices that we bought behind so the other people can experiment with them as well.
The happy hour in the afternoon was impressive. They featured olives and different cheeses and you can choose to have up to two glasses of their local Taft craft beer or a wine. Their breakfast is also complementary and they have plentiful options and specific foods that they have fresh made right there. When we were there we enjoyed pancakes, avocado, toast, and an omelette that featured goat cheese and tomatoes, etc. I really felt spoiled at this place. This place and it’s employees feel like community. The cook REMEMBERED us from last year, for crying out loud! I believe his name was Alex. Suuuuuuper nice and servant heart.
Josh, Moriah and their team really have a beautiful ship running there. It will be part of our mini getaway locations for...
Read moreWe stayed here for a few days, in town for a 15k in Jacksonville. This is a really nice hotel! We will definitely be going back. We rented one of the studio rooms, which had the full kitchenette. Rooms were super clean, along with the entire property. Staff was very nice. The sink in the kitchen has a water purifier for drinking water, I hear Jacksonville water is kind of funky so that's a nice addition. The hotel was built? In 2021 so everything is still new and updated. Has a decent sized gym, I believe a laundry room but we didn't use it, included continental breakfast, the cook makes the eggs and crepes fresh in front of you. They have bikes you can use to go around the area. Electric shades in the room with a second blackout shade. Beds were very nice, clean, wife said they were too soft for her taste. They allow pets for a upcharge, couldn't tell you if anyone had one, was super quiet, no pet odor. Room was ready a hour early but were didn't get in till late. Had about 5 people ahead of us for Check-in and one person at the desk. Took much longer than I would have expected to Check-in, I think it was more of the people ahead of us didn't reserve online prior. But not a big issue, the lobby, which is also the breakfast area, has plenty of room and comfortable seating to relax while we waited. Checkout took about 30seconds. Emailed a detailed receipt. They also have a pool, but it's pretty small and under the 2nd floor roof. So no sun, guess that may be good depending. The beach is a few blocks over too. Parking is partially under the 2nd floor roof also, then the rest is open. Cost $10 per night per vehicle. It's also right up against McDonald's. Not gated or anything but Seemed secure enough. The area is very nice. Walking distance to a ton of restaurants and bars. Seemed very safe, we were out for a late dinner, like 10-11pm and didn't have a issue walking around. Would also recommend checking out MelloMushroom a few blocks north for lunch or dinner. Wife got a gluten-free, no dairy, made to order pizza, which is kind of a rarity....
Read moreI quickly grew attached to this hotel. Unfortunately, there is a significant, known wifi connectivity problem that would make me think twice about returning.||Here's why I love it: It's a brand new property (and a newer brand, too) operated by Marriott. It targets longer-stay guests, with plates, utensils, a larger fridge, and a kitchen-style sink. No cooktop, however. ||Excellent, modern bath design.||Free breakfast is a real winner here: There's a daily cook-to-order item available, with the options rotating. Plenty of fresh fruits and the usuals pastry.||But, if you're like me and you like a nice yogurt for breakfast, strap yourself in! There is a Chobani yogurt bar during breakfast hours. I know. A-mazing. It features large bowls of vanilla yogurt (spoon as much as you like into your bowl) along with a nice selection of toppings like fresh chopped fruit, granola, and so forth. If only every free breakfast was as awesome as this hotels. What a dream.||The location is also very good—just a block from the beach with plenty of surf shops and the like to browse. Lots of restaurants in the area with a Walgreens and a full grocery store on opposite sides of the street.||Now, about the wifi problem. For some reason, it kept kicking me out and it was difficult to get back online. I got sick of dealing with it and tethered my laptop to my phone rather than deal with the headache. I asked about it at the desk on my second day. It's a known issue. The desk agent put me in touch with tech support and they supposedly locked in my IP address so I could stay online. It didn't work. I got kicked out again within minutes.||It's surprising that such a modern, new hotel that seems to target businessy/longer-term guests would have such a glaring problem with something as important as wireless connectivity. ||If I could be assured that the wifi issue is fixed, I woiuld actually return here on vacation knowing that I had a great hotel to serve...
