Brandy Nail Salon — Local services in Jersey City

I have no idea how this place has great reviews as my pedicure experience there was disappointing. I asked for a gel pedicure which was $56, a little pricier than other places but hey, I don't mind paying for a great service. Although the pedicure itself came out decent, the actual service was subpar. I was upcharged $12 for a "callous treatment" that was literally just a normal foot scrub that has been included in every pedicure I've previously had. When I think of "callous treatment" I expect a soak or a filing machine that helps remove the rough, dead, flakey skin on your heels. This "treatment" was her using a foot file on my foot with cuticle oil. It should have been included in the pedicure and not an additional $12 (!!!) charge.

I was also disappointed because she did not apply lotion on my feet to help moisturize them. I've had dozens of pedicures and this has always been part of the process. I understand foot massages are an additional cost, but all I wanted was for her to rub some lotion into the skin. I was so jealous of the girl next to me who looked like she was enjoying her experience!

Lastly, the wifi there is absolutely terrible. I was looking forward to being able to scroll mindlessly on my phone during the service but the entire place is a dead zone. Also, the pedicure chairs don't recline like others so it's a bit uncomfortable.

Overall, my toenails certainly pass the eye test but I can't believe I paid $72 for a mediocre pedicure experience. I will never be going...

It's been tough finding a nail salon since my fave nail tech in Montclair moved. Rating this spot a solid 4. I decided to visit this spot before I traveled. I was seen by Yuki - who was very friendly. Got a pedi ($33) and a french manicured dip set (94). No one told me how long the dip takes! Anyway, the place is nice and clean. They played serene music and offered 3 minute massages. (Not sure if that depends on the service) Yuki was super sweet and kind. But 2 hours in, another nail tech took over to quickly finish the french manicured nails.

However, I should warn anyone to please be sure to have enough cash. The ATM ran out of cash. And the woman who finished my hands outright asked me for her tip. Which, I thought, was distasteful and awkward.

I’ve been to this nail salon 3 times since recently moving to Jersey City and I had to leave a review for the the lovely ladies that work here because they really go above and beyond to make it such a great experience! They are so friendly and will always remember you by name. The salon is beautifully clean and they always have spa music on. The attention to detail on the spa pedicure is everything !
