Wellcome Halal Meat & Grocery — Local services in Jersey City

I am writing this review after my patience has run out, this is the worst shop and it works only because of the location the have their store and because newbies go there.

I have been going to this store for over a year, noticing every purchase and I have finally come to a conclusion that these guys sell the WORST meat. Finding halal chicken has been hard for me so I end up going to this place and guess what the color of the chicken when they cut and give (skinless) is white i wonder how bad it is. I have never seen chicken having smell after one day of cooking but if we buy from them it rots quickly. They also have HUGE pieces of chicken like if you ask for 5 pounds they will throw a huge chicken even if you ask for a small one. Also they NEVER give you what you ask for.

As for meat everytime I got meat (lamb/goat) they gave me something out for freezer and these scammers over charge always they once charged me freaking 80$ for a pound of lamb saying it is expensive if they cut the meat from thigh. I have got chicken and meat all my life and have never seen such people.

The meat they give stinks and has alot of fat which is included in weight and is thrown. These people also gave me already cut meat frozen instead on fresh once and lied about it being fresh. They also gave me a box of chicken stock which was expired once.

Better but from online halal companies or get halal chicken and meat from walmart or cosco but never trust these people or buy...

I've been coming to Wellcome Halal Meat with my father since I was a kid growing up in the late late 90s. We used to order on Friday before Jumm'ah and then pick up after.

The uncles who own the business are two of the nicest people you'll find. They're very honest, hard working and really terrific people. The meat is always fresh, and we get a whole assortment all the time between beef, goat, lamb, chicken, Qeema, seasoned keema for seekh kebab etc. Amjad who is one of the butchers who prepares our meat is very kind and incredibly diligent, and he always cleans and trims the fat and other stuff to accommodate my mother who has arthritis and has difficulty cutting strenuously.

I too support Devendra's review here. I am one of the old customers for this shop. I have been going this shop for almost two years. This guys will not give the meat what you had asked for. I usually ask them for baby goat meat but they give you which ever the meat has not been sold for a long. They will give you either old meat or lamb. When you raise your voice during your next visit that time they try to tell you something and give you little better than earlier meat but it still the meat which you didn't ask for.
