Edit Response to Owner 15th April 2024: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP LYING!
I agreed because we thought there is no other table which occupies 6 people that is why we moved to table which occupies 2. We did not know that those were your known customers and you do not want them to seat near restroom but if other customers seat near to restroom is fine!
Those Party of 6 people were already seating on another table which already occupies 6 people. Just they did not wanted to seat near to RESTROOM you forced us to seat on table of 2. When we entered into restaurant there were 3 tables empty.
One occupies 2 and other 2 which occupies 6 party each. We did not seat on table to two due to various reasons of table shacking, Kitchen heat waves, and Masala smells.
You can ask your waiter too, even he felt it very bad when we were moved to another table. The table of 2 near to kitchen door which continuously smells with Masalas and Heat waves.
Later when we opposed you asked us to seat on the same table of 6 people where those party of 6 people do not wanted to seat because of restroom smell. If those party of 6 people did not want to seat near restroom then how could you ask us to seat on that table?
I know 6 people can order more and give you more business instead of 2 of us.
Whether its 2 people or 6 people. Stop differentiating based on different attitudes. Original Review Thread Started: WORST | DISCRIMINATION | PARTIALITY | TYPICAL INDIAN MENTALITY
IN INDIA CUSTOMERS ARE CONSIDERED AS GOD. DO NOT DISCRIMINATE THEM BY YOUR FRIENDS RELATIVES OR KNOWN PERSONNEL. This was my favorite place until this incident.
The worst experience I ever had with any restaurant in any country. I used to love this place a lot, even I visited it's many franchise in Chicago Illinois but Never seen discrimination and partiality. Sadly My friends and Past Roommates works in the Kitchen of the same restaurant.
Me and my Friend visited this place in evening and 3 tables in the restaurant were available. We seat on a table and waited for our order for almost 25 minutes. Instead of getting our order on time, Mr. Amit asked waiter to ask us to move to a table which is close to the Kitchen. We could have seat on that table in beginning only but due to Kitchen Heat and Bad spices smell we seat on another table.
They asked us to change the table because of their so called "Family Friend" or "Relatives" wanted to seat on that table. Whoever was family or relatives or friends, They had already got a table and they all were seating nicely on the table. Just because that was close to the restroom they asked us to change the table.
After When I asked Mr. Amit and Waiter what was the reason to change the Table? They were silent and they had no answer with them. Even in return Mr. Amit asked me to seat on the Table where the other customer was earlier seating next to the restroom. WHAT???? If other customer do not want to seat near to restroom then how could you ask us to seat on a table next to restroom.
Just to close this matter you are asking "PLEASE DO NOT PAY ANYTHING IT's FINE."??
IS IT OKAY? it's...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place after learning about it via social media. So I used the occasion to visit friends who moved to Jersey last summer. We got six dishes: Egg Katori, Australian Fry, Volcano Biryani, Leela Lasun Bhurji, Tadka Dal-khichadi, and a Chicken Peri Peri sandwich. Some were really good, some were kind of perplexing (not in a great way), and one was bad.
The good:
The Leela Lasun Bhurji (scrambled egg curry with green garlic) was really really good; probably the best thing I had. I would recommend anything from the green garlic menu. It was pungent and spicy (though they said it was medium--I tried to get them to make it spicier and they said no for that dish). Great dish!
The Peri Peri chicken sandwich was also really really good. It was kind of a grilled cheese sandwich with chicken and veg in it and some kind of cheesy-seeming sauce. Anyway, it was really good and worth trying.
the Tadka Dal-khichadi was basically a red dal; my friend who got it really liked it---though it was pretty heavy. I liked the chili oil and dried peppers on top--which I took and put in my dish (another consistent theme with this restaurant seems to be not making the food spicy).
The egg katori was fine; like masala-spiced deviled eggs covered in cold shredded cheese (the shredded cheese made an appearance in several dishes). This seems to be one of their "big hit" dishes.
The Confusing:
Australia Fry: A very thin tomato sauce with random chunks of hardboiled egg whites in the bottom....and LOTS of that cold white shredded cheese on top. It wasn't great.
The Bad:
Volcano Biryani: this is supposed to be another signature dish and it was not great. I asked for 10/10 spicy and it was one of the least spicy dishes. It was also super rice-heavy and dominated more than any other dish by the cold shredded cheese. There was also an omelet hiding on the bottom.
In summary, some dishes were good; nothing except maybe the green garlic dish were worth coming back to eat. Also, I think the eating experience would be much better if they just cut the shredded...
Read moreStraight to the owner or Management,
I have been regular customer for very long time. Today (March 4th, 2023), I visited this place at 7-8 PM for dine in, placed an order and waited hour to get my food. My wife order food from the next door restaurant (Nandoo's), not allow to eat egg because she is pregnant. While she started eating her food sitting next to me in the restaurant. One of the guy (EggoMania Team Member) just shouted and told my wife that food or drink from outside restaurants (specifically Indian/desi restaurants) are not allow to bring and eat in their restaurant. This guy was very rude and disrespectful. Also, they did not have any signage that food or drink from outside restaurants are not allow to bring and eat in their restaurant. At the same time, a group of people came with bottle of alcohol (from outside) and started drinking while we were sitting and waiting for our food. EggMania has no issue with them brining alcohol from outside and drinking in their restaurant.
Furthermore, a guy with glasses (Amish Sharma) either he is team leader or not sure his position, he told me that if i bring food from their restaurant and eat at next door (Nandoo's) restaurant, he told me that they will not let me allow to eat. I am not sure whether they have dispute or personal problem with this restaurant.
I have dine in many American/Indian restaurants many times throughout USA and international (except EggMania, Jersey City) and they have had absolutely no issue with this kind of situation.
I am hoping that management should take necessary action against this kind of behavior. Also, they should put the signage about their restaurant policy. Management need to change their policy otherwise they will loose their customers - strictly a warning or...
