After dining out at several Brazilian Churrasquerias this one is by far the best one my husband and I have been to in Texas. We kept comparing every Brazilian steakhouse we've gone to, to one we went to while in Las Vegas and this one made the same impact. Exquisite is an understatement. We came here for my husband's birthday dinner and left absolutely in love. Starting with the service. It was Mother's Day weekend and Prom weekend and the service was extraordinary. Not a single complaint in that department as everybody was extremely attentive and delightful to interact with. We went for the full churrasco experience and one thing that stood out to me in comparison to other Churrasquerias is the fact that they respect the red card just as much as they acknowledge the green card. I've been to places where my card will be flipped on red and I'm still not allowed to enjoy dinner peacefully because of the constant probing for more meat. I like that when the card was red nobody was insistant and when the card was flipped to green the meats kept coming. Wonderful! Another thing I noticed was that my Brazilian lemonade glass never ran dry. The ice NEVER had an opportunity to melt. I was getting refilled constantly. The salad bar had a very good selection, I love that the fried bananas are a choice that you can indulge in and not something you have to keep requesting. The cheese bread along with the fried polenta were also delicious, warm, and indulging. The meats were cooked perfectly, medium was medium, medium well was medium well, and so on and so forth. No complaints in that department either. If I could give one piece of constructive criticism for this location would be the placement of the tables by the entrance of the restaurant. The table where my husband and I were seated felt very much "in the way" of everybody because it was very close to the entrance walk way and so we felt a little out of place and in the way. Regardless of this, we felt extremely welcome and tended to gracefully. We will definitely be coming back here. If the service was this amazing on a busy weekend such as Mother's Day and prom, I can't imagine on an average day with less customers. Very...
Read moreI've never been to a Brazilian Steak House before but Gauchos Do Sul has placed the bar high! The restaurant's lighting is on the dimmer side and dress code is pretty casual/business casual. There are plenty of tables and seating- private rooms for reservations are located in the back. Restrooms are nice and clean with a classy décor.
The soup/salad bar has a variety of different cold cuts, cheese, and veggies. They also have seafood like cocktail shrimp and salmon loxs. Out of everything I got, I really enjoyed their soup (I believe it was lobster bisque), bread, and roasted eggplant.
Their appetizers were also fantastic- they had bread with cheese inside (super addicting/dangerous), polenta fries, mashed potatoes, etc.
As for the meats, everything was solid. Definitely get their special (Picanha) and the Fraldinha. The other cuts of meat (i.e. ribeye, calf steak, chicken wings) were okay. But their seafood (shrimp and octopus) was a pleasant surprise!
Something that I actually could not get enough of was their grilled pineapple. It has cinnamon sugar on top and the sweetness/acidity of the fruit paired very well with some of the fattier cuts of meat.
As for dessert, you have an option of either tres leches cake, tiramisu, or churros. I ended up going with the churros which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The churros were perfectly fried and had a sweet crème filling. Even though I was so full by the time dessert came, the churros and ice cream were so good I ended up eating it all lol.
Aside from the delicious food, the service here was fantastic! I appreciate how fast/diligent the servers were for our big group. Aside from making sure our plates were always full of meat, they were very attentive on our waters and taking away dishes that were no longer needed.
Overall, my group and I had a fantastic experience here and I look forward to...
Read moreTLDR; ok service, Interesting to experience once, but it's just not for me. I would only come back if I could pass on the meat and just have dessert.
Went out with a friend to celebrate his getting a promotion. Neither of us had been to a Brazilian steakhouse and wanted to try it. We both went business casual and ended up being overdressed. Even though I'm not a fan of beef, the beef was the best tasting thing they offered; kinda juicy, very flavorful, not too fatty. The chicken was ok. If you're going to insist on only eating well done meat avoid the lamb--it's really tough and chewy. The sausage was not good--I can get better quality sausage at the grocery. They also kept bringing us the same medium rare cut of meat even after we told them we wanted well done only and weren't interested in that cut. Mow their grilled pineapple was excellent, as its coated in melted brown sugar so you get this heavenly mix of richly sweet and smoky flavors. Furthermore, their tres leches is hands down the best I've ever eaten ANYEHERE. My friend was less impressed with their Brazilian flan which was only slightly better than store bought. We Also both had some of the arugula salad, and both ended up feeling sick to our stomachs for the next 2 days; I'm not entirely sure why, seeing as how we only ate tiny portions of everything we tried, though we still left feeling overstuffed so it could just be from that. Since I'm not a beef guy, and the beef was the best thing there, I wouldn't come back. Also, even though we both overate, we both felt like the amount and quality of food we had (aside from the dessert, which is extra) was not worth $65/person. So unless you love beef, fully intend to stuff yourself silly, and are perfectly happy to walk away feeling sick from overeating, I really wouldn't...
