Medlock Alterations — Local services in Johns Creek

Absolutely terrible costumer service. They tried to charge me over 400$ to fix 7 pairs of pants, just waist and a few leg adjustments in only 2 pairs. Then I decided to do only one pair of pants, waist only for $38!!! Found this place called a-z alterations that charge $19 for the same time exact service. All my pants there were $130. The lady even said she was giving me a discount but couldn’t tell me how much of discount was that or the % or the original price. Kind of funny. Today I was coming to pickup the one pair of pants I left there, called them first to ask If I could go that time, the lady said she couldn’t find my pants!!! She was extremely rude and said I called the wrong place, asked me several questions about the pants and my name and info, they don’t provide a receipt which is actually very weird. Then she kept saying I was calling the wrong place, that it’s very common for people to do that mistake and kept the rude tone. I said ok thank you and hung up. 2 minutes later she calls me and says “oh i found it, it’s ready” and I said I know, I was driving there either way because I knew I called the right place. So I definitely don’t recommend this place at all. Over priced, and to make it worse when I finally arrived to pick it up she asked me if I paid for it, kind of accusing me of not paying it, the yellow receipt on top literally said PAID in red, and they make you pay first when you drop off for the service so obviously it would be paid. The alteration itself was ok. Wasn’t expecting much but service alone ruined the experience and will never come here again. First there is no tracking for customers. A piece of paper that they write your name on. You dont get a copy and they won’t tell you the price unless you ask. They say trust us and just come to claim when its ready. They wont call you just an anticipated date of it being ready. You show up and they cant first find it and think you are in the wrong place. Then when you try to inspect the work is actually done they immediately go on the defensive and say they only do work that you tell them to do. Wait what? So Im not even allowed to check the work to ensure it got done properly and if not its my fault? They don’t take credit cards which they fail to mention at any point too. Also, don’t have chairs in the business if you don’t want people sitting in them. I had my 7 year old with me and they were on the chair to have the worker or owner grab her by the arm and say not to be on the chair because there are plants in the way? You never grab any children in that fashion. Especially for just sitting in a chair that you have available. If you don’t want people sitting in a spot because of the plants then either move the plant or move the chair. overpriced and rip off, got my dress altered here and they told me the price after they took all the measurements and it shocked me as it was way beyond my budget. i didnt want to be difficult and put up a fuss so i still paid it but was very disappointed. my dress was $80, alterations was $230 just to take in the waist and hem the bottom. if i knew it was going to be that expensive i would’ve chosen a better dress and put that money into the actual dress instead.

to make matters worse, i had lunch with a friend the next day only to find out she had to leave soon to pick up her dress and as we were talking we found out that we had ours done in the same place. i went and picked it up with her (both of ours was ready for pickup together) and after i was talking to her about the price of hers and she paid $100 less than i did to get the same thing done. she also agreed that they ripped me off and overcharged me, not sure how they come up with prices but i would recommend going elsewhere to not get ripped off 👍

my dress was a plain dress with a basic cutout (no sequins, no fancy designs etc) so not sure why it was so expensive for what it was, and the results were just mediocre (got the job done but the part with the waist taken in looked a bit off/ funny)
