Loved the store and selections BUT I took my mom which needs alittle help getting around. We finished shopping and pushed the cart right outside the doors into the mall area where they had chairs to sit down. Directly outside the opening from Home Goods and was in the mall hallway. It was around 7pm. My mom stayed there and I brought back some snacks and drinks. We are new in town and had no idea that the mall on a Friday night would close at 8pm. Every mall across the country stays open until 9pm. I noticed some shops pulling down the chain fence a few minutes before 8 in which I thought was odd but not all were closing. Then I saw someone close the Home Goods gates like at 7:58pm. I quickly went over and told the woman that my mother is handicapped and we really need to go out the exit thur the store since she is using their cart to walk with and had our cart full of purschases and we were parked right out front of the store. She kept walking to the cash register and just said sorry... once I close it I cant open the gate. She said you have to walk around to exit thur the mall... which was several stores down and then down another long hallway and then a ways the go get back to the car. I explained to her my mom can't walk very far and it would be easier to go thur the store..liked we entered. She was rude and just said sorry I cant open it. I told her well we have to take your cart. She said we need to just leave it outside the gate. Well we didnt.. my mom needed it to walk to a mall exit. I eventually got her to the exit had her sit down outside while I brought the car around. I just think it was really poor judgement of the salesperson to make that decision even after I explained the situation. Rude and unprofessional. Loved the store but salesperson should be more aware of certain situations might warrent certain actions. Atleast post a big sign that this exit closes sharply at 8pm! At the very least show compassion for older folks that may need alittle help...
Read moreIve always loved shopping at Homegoods, but a recent experience left me genuinely surprised and disappointed. While my husband and I were browsing chairs and discussing which ones might work for our space, an employee came up behind us and began rearranging the display — fluffing pillows, scooting chairs around, and muttering under her breath the entire time. We were actively shopping (an hour and a half before closing mind you) and standing right there, yet she seemed annoyed by our presence.
The most surprising part was when she actually told us to stay off “her” furniture — as if customers sitting on chairs to test comfort is somehow inappropriate in a home goods store. Her tone was curt, and the entire interaction felt unnecessarily tense and unwelcoming.
I understand that employees take pride in their displays, but this felt more like territorial behavior than customer service. I hope this isn't the norm, because it certainly soured...
Read moreAs a new store it was still pristine. The employees were polite. It was smaller that the Home Goods I'd previously visited but one of the other customers stated that it was larger than the one they've gone to so I'd say it's a midsize store. I went looking for large Cat Trees like the one in Knoxville had but the pet department was very small and they didn't have any. They had a decent selection of holiday decor. Overall it was a nice experience but I deducted a star because I went for a specific item that is available through the company, just wasn't at this location at this time. However if it wasn't for that I'd have...
