I typically only ever review local businesses to provide glowing feedback. As a small business owner I understand the importance of reviews and word-of-mouth reputation. So please believe me when I say that you should absolutely not waste your money at Mimis Bridal.
This summer my best friend was finally getting married to the love of his life after 9 long years together. The bride has an extreme eye for detail and exceptional taste, so the wedding was a beautiful ceremony. Fantastic venue, fantastic food, amazing floral arrangements. The literal single issue was that she had decided to use Mimis for the groomsmens' tuxedos.
Myself, the other groomsmen, and the bride and grooms fathers all paid just under $300 for stylish and properly fitting tuxedos. We were told that they'd be arrive and be ready for us to try on the week before in case any alterations needed to be made. But the tuxedos arrived the DAY BEFORE the wedding. On the phone they blamed their supplier; fair enough that can happen. But then after talking to the other groomsmen I come to find out that they had all been called by Mimis and told they needed to pay their deposits because "they were about to order the tuxedos" 6 days before the wedding date. So they ordered them on a Saturday and received them on a Thursday - doesn't sound like the supplier was the issue. Sounds like they procrastinated and tried to blame a vendor.
Then we all rush in to try on the tuxedos only to find out that EVERY SINGLE ONE was completely wrong. Not one of them git properly. We looked like a bunch of discount waiters. The jackets were wrong, the shirts were wrong, the pants were wrong, the vest was wrong. I was told that I'm just a weird size and that they don't make shirts with sleeves that are right for the length of my arms.
But still they assured us they could fix them. I was told to leave my tux and they'd alter it over night and have them ready for pickup at 9am the next morning. I showed up at 9am to a locked door. They reluctantly let me in and when I explained what happened they told me that the woman who had promised to correct my tux had a family emergency and didn't touch any of the alterations.
So we all ended up looking terrible and when we asked about refunds we were told they'd have to consult the vendor. That was 3 months ago and they haven't tried to make it right with even a simple apology.
Truly a horribly run business. You'd have better luck at piecing together an outfit via thrift stores and Walmart. After reading the other reviews it's clear this is par for the course at Mimis. Avoid giving them money...
Read moreNot extremely happy with Mimi’s Bridal. My husband and his two groomsmen rented suits from Mimi’s. All three were measured more than a month before the wedding. I called once the last one was measured to confirm everything was in order and nothing else was needed to ensure they were ordered and delivered on time. Bethany informed me that all was in place and that the suits would arrive the Friday the week before the wedding, or the Monday immediately prior to the wedding. I called on Saturday the week before the wedding and was told that the suits were not in and would arrive on Monday. On Monday, Bethany left me a voicemail stating that the suits would be in later in the week, and that they were ordered late because we had not paid the deposit. None of the three guys, nor I, were asked to pay the deposit at ANY point in time, nor when I specifically asked about payment when we picked out the suit. Bethany promised the suits would be in on Wednesday and that I could pick them up from her as soon as they arrived, even though the store was closed that day. I received a call from the owner Lynn on Wednesday that the suits were in, but that I would have to call in to pay the deposit. And, the guys would have to go to another location to try on their suits prior to picking them up. Because they arrived days after they were supposed to, the guys were not able to try them on in-store. Instead, I picked them up and the guys tried them on at home that evening. All 3 guys had fit issues with at least one piece. Lynn stated she would do any necessary alterations herself and ended up letting out several pieces. But, because the suits were late coming in, we did not have the option to order replacement items for pieces that were too small. I got the suits back the day before the wedding. One of the groomsmen had to settle with a shirt that was several inches too short in the arms, the other had pants that were too tight. Overall, I am not happy that Mimi’s Bridal dropped the ball, and thus the suits did not fit as they should have on wedding day. Mimi’s did attempt to make it as right as possible, but in the end, I paid a lot of money for suits that did not fit as they...
Read moreI have upped my rating because the new owner contacted me and has explained that the woman and employees who did this are no longer there!! Yay!
With the previous owners and staff....First we go in to get bridesmaids dresses ( I had purchased my gown in Missoula) They tell us it's no problem and they will be here in time. When we go to check out they change their story and make us pay rush shipping. Then I sit down and pick all the groomsmen wear, everything went good- I went back to double check and instead of the charcoal we had discussed they had written down ivory for all of my groomsmen. We get this sorted out. I have 6 groomsmen, father of the bride and father of the groom renting from there, they told me multiple times that my grooms tux would be free. When we go back at a later date they tell me his is no longer free because my groomsmen aren't getting jackets. We stand there ready to pay and another group walks in, the lady at the counter walks over to them and ignores us for 20 minuets. We almost grabbed the sheet and went to Big Fork and I wish we would have. But we stayed she walked over and said sorry she forgot about us, and we paid. Then we took my dress there to get steamed right before the wedding. My mother went on the day of rehearsal to pick it up and they take her over to the wrong dress! She frantically starts searching the store and the sales girls start making phone calls. THEY SENT MY $1200.00 GOWN TO THE WRONG PERSON!! My mother gave them an hour and had to leave the store to calm down. She returned and had to still wait for them to bring it back, it had been North of Kalispell in someones RV! I wanted to still write this review, this happened last August 2016 and I want the people who did this to us and caused so much unnecessary stress to know how terrible my experience was and how happy I am to hear that you no longer own this establishment nor work there!!!! I am so happy to hear they are under new owners and I wish all the futures...
