I rented two items from the Kalispell Rent-A-Center. I only needed the items for a short-term rental, but was told that in order to rent, I was required to put down the full monthly payment. I was hesitant to do this because I only needed the items for a short period of time. However, I was assured by Rent-A-Center employee and manager, Edward Pruss, that the payment would be prorated back to me based on when the items were returned. The items were delivered on March 7th and picked up and returned on March 18th. In fact, the pickup was scheduled for March 17th, but no one showed up and there was no communication until I contacted Rent-A-Center and was told they “didn’t have a truck to pick it up” and needed to reschedule. So I had the items for a total of 9 days. When I called to inquire about the proration, I was told by Store Manager Edward Pruss that it is company policy that they do not prorate, that he would have never told me otherwise, and that there was nothing he could do to make it right. Mr. Pruss lied up front in order to get the contract in place, got the payment from me, and washed his hands of the situation. Poor customer service and shady business practices at the Kalispell...

They advertised product that wasn't available then when we decided to go with something else they couldn't give us a firm date on when it would be delivered... had to call 3 different times to find out when we would get what was purchased and got put off 3 different times... when we finally got what was purchased they scratched our new couch down our wall and started to try and blame something other than themselves by confusingly asking each other if that was from them. Then I set up automatic payments to come directly out of my checking online and after my first payment was made I began to receive several phone calls from the store directly saying I never made a payment. After I questioned them about the online payments that were made they played stupid and said oh yeah now I see them... I have asked the store to stop calling as it is an inconvenience during my work hours and they began to yell at me and said that I needed to read my contract and they can call 3 times a day when I don't make a payment... after I stated I had made all my payments on time and they have no reason to call me they hung up on me... don't walk, run from this horribly...
Read moreThe manager Aaron is condescending and doesn't listen to a word you say. It took over a year to get my payment date changed to the day we agreed to when signing. The monthly price I ended up paying was SIGNIFICANTLY higher than quoted and due 25 days later than I asked.
Don't ask them to stop calling you about promotional deals. Just block their phone number, promise me. It doesn't even matter if you have never missed a payment, they will call you every single week to try to get you on another loan.
Aaron attempted to force me to give sensitive information over the phone after telling him multiple times I wasn't comfortable. Aaron will push and push for whatever he wants out of your visit every time, and won't stop even after you've signed a contract. It's not aggressive sales, it's just downright predatory.
The other workers who deliver the furniture were great. Management just NEEDS completely...
