Chi Cafe — Restaurant in Kalispell

Absolutely nothing is organic, GMO free or locally sourced as the owner claims. Food is left out for hours on end in the kitchen and meats for the Pho and Pad Thai, and even sandwiches are defrosted and refrozen over 3 and 4 times. Would not recommend eating here unless you are okay with being a little sick for a few days. Proper protocol for storage and handling of meat and foods is not followed or understood. Please do not order the pork banh mi, the pork is still RAW and is supposed to be microwaved until it is fully cooked, which there is no protocol in place to ensure it is fully cooked. Almost everything is microwaved in this establishment. Expired food and kim chi is left on the ready to eat case because the owner claims "it's still good." NOTHING on the ready to eat is made daily! So much food waste. Bags upon bags of the bread that is made is disposed of daily! Such a sad waste of potential in the valley.

Edit: The owner decided she was going to claim tips (this is illegal) and refuse to tip me and another coworker out after a long hard day. We quit on site, not only because of this particular act of greed but many other strange behaviors from previously. She now chooses to misinform that she fired us. This woman is unprofessional with ALL of her staff. It is greatly sad that she chooses to be spiteful and lie about her former staff. I hope anyone who reads her reply to this information sees that she is incapable of interacting with clients or employees on a business level. I don't care if she claims she will "never" take me back. This is coming from a boss who also told me I am a "valued employee" and she appreciates my reliability and contribution to her business. Unfortunately lies follow embarrassment! I quit on this business because it's only as good as its owner, and I refuse to continue selling a lie, and expired, under prepared foods.I also have text messages of proof of me explaining why I was quitting and her telling me, I am angry because I am just "pregnant and hormonal." It baffles me that this woman can hold a business, and will be impressed if it meets the year mark!...

The amount is never consistent. Although I was told they are retraining staff which is good. It's important to stay consistent with portion. I wish the mango and pineapple are fresh and not in a can. Also, would like to mention it is odd to charge your customers To go and for the tuna when your already paying for a medium bowl for 2 protein. If I want 2 protein I'll choose the medium bowl for $2 more but when I choose the protein I shouldn't be charged for the protein again (if that makes sense). The price for 2 protein should already be included in the $16.50. And last, the schedule of opening isn't consistent, bcuz it's disappointing when they are suppose to open and you drive over only to find it's close for some reason. I hope the management gets better bcuz this place does have a great menu. Overall, I grew up with poke bowls and Boba and this is the only place that has it here in Kalispell, MT. My experience deals with more of the service than the food as the food was awesome!

As for the service this is the first time that I have ate at a Poke restaurant that did not make the bowl as I ordered it. The lady behind the counter just took my order on a sheet and that was all. She said it would be 10 min for my order. Mind you I was the only one in the restaurant and thought this was different but said ok I will wait in my car for 10 min. Came back in 10 min later and I asked where my order was all of a sudden she then went back to check on it. Mine you again the food to prepare my order was in front. She said it would be another 10 min so I went back to my car again. When I came back there was a different lady making my food so after 25 min of an order I finally had my food. Again just very different and the first lady really didn't look like she either cared or was to in a rush to get an order completed when I was the only one there. Great food but for the time it took to get it I will not be back. I usually don't have 25 min during the 12:30 lunch...
