It all started on 22nd November 2022 when on our hiking vacation as we drove around looking for coffee in Kanab Utah. The coffee shop inside the outfitters was closed, but we were introduced to Kanab Tour Company!!! We signed up right then and there for the Peek-a-Boo Slot Canyon Tour for the next day, 23 November 2022! As we came in the 23rd, Ransom & his Beautiful mom, were awesome when fitting us both for helmets and goggles, then taking us through the safety briefing! Thank you Ransom & his Mom!!! My vote for best tour guide ever is Tanner Lee! Tanner Lee knew all the crazy crossing maze of trails in the area! He lead our group to Peek-a-Boo Slot Canyon & Hidden Lake! Tanner also told us about the geology of the area, History, as well as stories of the past inhabitants of the area! Plus he is an awesome driver making us feel safe to step on the gas and have a blast between stops to explore several breath taking features on the tour! I highly recommend the Peek-a-Boo slot Canyon Tour as well as asking for Tanner Lee… The best guide ever!!! 😊 During the tour I told Tanner that we were entering the lottery every morning we were in Kanab, for permits to both North and South Coyote Buttes. Tanner said call us when you win, we can get you there and give you the tour!! Sure enough that very night we were notified we WON permits to South Coyote Buttes!!! I text Tanner late on the 23rd November 2022. On Thanksgiving Day , Tanner Lee text us congratulations on winning the rare permit. He said no worries, he would get ahold of the tour office and arrange everything for our South Coyote Buttes Hike on 25th November 2022!!! Then he did set everything up! On Thanksgiving!! We arrived at 7am on the 25th at Kanab Tour Company. We were once again greeted by Ransom’s adorable smile!!! Ransom’s Mom helped fit us with helmets & goggles. Tanner Lee, the best tour guide ever, gave us the tour of a life time! Tanner knew all the deep sand trails to the most scenic, other worldly landscapes of South Coyote Buttes! Again he pointed out and discussed all features along the way. Discussed the geology, history, pointed out Dinosaur tracks, answered all our strange questions with his expert knowledge!! Tanner Lee even pronounced the native names of different features and areas with ease! He repeated so we could “try” speaking the native words. (Which was much harder than Tanner made it seem!) As we said our good byes and thanked Tanner Lee; He said on your way back to Kanab, look for the Paria Town Site sign and drive down that road for another other worldly visual experience! So we did! We enjoyed so many, Oh my gosh moments with every tour, every turn, around every corner of that entire area!! Thank you so much, Tanner Lee and Kanab Tour Company! You made our vacation the very best vacation of our entire lives!! We are now back in WV planning our next visit to Kanab. My weekend was transformed into an unforgettable adventure by Kelley, one of their phenomenal guides. Kelley's passion for the outdoors and her expertise behind the wheel made the tour of Hog Canyon, Peek a Boo Slot Canyon, and the Great Chamber an absolute delight. Her driving skills navigated us smoothly through challenging terrain, ensuring safety and comfort throughout. What made the tour uniquely special was Kelley's suggestion to explore the Great Chamber barefoot - an experience that connected me more deeply with the natural beauty of the area. Her choice of music and vibrant personality added an extra layer of enjoyment to our journey, making it clear that she truly loves what she does.

Another standout experience was with Shelley, who guided me through the mesmerizing landscapes of White Pocket. Shelley was the epitome of preparedness, equipped with remedies like peppermint and ginger for motion sickness, and even extra jackets and gloves for those of us who underestimated the chilly weather. Her foresight and attentiveness ensured that we could fully immerse ourselves in the adventure without discomfort or worry.

Behind the scenes, Ashley and Morgan work tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of the tours runs smoothly. Their dedication to guests' enjoyment and comfort is evident in the seamless organization and execution of each tour. It's clear they play a crucial role in the company's success, contributing to the overall positive atmosphere and ensuring that everything from bookings to day-of logistics is handled with care. Other standouts from this weekend were Dan, Trevor, and Cash! There was also a woman who helped at the front desk in the mornings who’s name I did not catch, but she made a positive impact on my weekend with her cheerful demeanor and she navigated her first week on the job with grace.

We had an incredible experience with Kanab Tour Company on the Peekaboo Slot Canyon UTV tour, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. As two moms traveling alone with three young kids (ages 10, 8, and 7), we wanted something that felt adventurous but also safe, and something that would keep both adults and kids entertained. This tour checked every box—and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, Kirk.

Kirk brought a calm, confident presence that immediately put us at ease. As an Utah native, he was knowledgeable and engaging throughout the whole tour and had the kids laughing and joking with him. He clearly knows the area inside and out, and it showed in the little details he pointed out along the way—hidden landmarks, local history, and cool natural features we never would’ve noticed on our own.

The UTV ride itself was so much fun—fast, a little wild in the best way, and totally safe. Kirk led us through soft sand trails and over scenic ridgelines, keeping everything exciting but totally under control. The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever, and we felt completely comfortable the whole time.

Peekaboo Slot Canyon was absolutely beautiful—narrow red rock walls, amazing light, and plenty of time to explore. It was peaceful and uncrowded, and Kirk gave us space to enjoy it while also pointing out fun things the kids could climb through or look at. He struck a perfect balance between guiding and letting us take it all in at our own pace.

What really made the tour special was how Kirk handled our group. Traveling with young kids can be unpredictable, but he was patient, kind, and kept the mood light and fun the entire time. We all came away with huge smiles, great photos, and memories that our kids are still talking about.
