Whoa, crazy experience. I went to the Kanab Subway two days in a row while visiting Kanab with my family. First day’s food and service was fine, not amazing. Second day, manager (female) was in some sort of mood. Each customer I heard ahead of me was asking pretty normal restaurant questions (do I qualify for that deal? What might you recommend?), and that manager was quite rude and abrupt. It wasn’t very busy, I was the last one in line, right behind a family of 4. My turn came quicker than expected, and as I began to give my order, I realized that the manager taking orders had refused service to the group of 4 in front of me. I turned to hear the mother’s frustrated comment, “I just asked for white bread with only pepperoni, for my son, who’s autistic…” (like maybe that’s the only thing he’ll eat…). I looked over at the manager, questioningly. She said, “I tried to explain to her that I can’t do that, and she didn’t want to hear me. What would you like?” I started to ask if it was because they don’t have pepperoni, but before I could even finish, the manager demanded, “Are you with them?” I paused and responded, “I would love to be with them…” The manager moved along, “I’m not serving them, that’s my business.” I replied, “I get that, but it seems like you might be refusing them service for the wrong kinds of reasons…”. (Skin color? Autism? Communication style - no accents that I could detect…) Her response was, “Do you want to eat here today?” I hesitated again, and she closed the cover to the ingredients, and yelled, “We’re not serving anyone else in line!” (I was the last one there, ha ha, besides the family of 4). I turned around, started to leave, and yelled back, “You’ll hear about this!” She yelled back, “Yeah, I hear about it!” Maybe it had been a crazy lunch hour just prior to my visit. Maybe the manager was…sick? I don’t know. I was genuinely surprised at the way she was treating customers… I seriously thought for a second that John Quiñones from “What Would You Do?” was going to walk out from the back… I can’t leave town without giving a review. They’re nowhere to be found on BBB, so this is my attempt to bring it to the attention of the owners??? (Monday,...
Read moreI went in for two sandwiches and had a heavy-set lady making them. Everything was fine until we got to the vegetables, and she said the sandwich I was ordering came with tomato, lettuce, and mayo. I said that was fine, but I would also like the rest of the veggies on the sandwich as well.
She repeated what she said again about the tomato, lettuce, and mayo. Again, I said that was fine, but I would also like the rest of the veggies too. She then snapped at me and said, and I quote, “This will go a lot easier if you do not talk over me.”
I was taken aback because I hadn’t spoken over her. I was the only one ordering and in line, so it was easy to not take over anyone. She then finished that sandwich with what I asked for and started on the other one. She asked in a short, rude tone with sharp questions about what I wanted.
I asked for all the veggies, and before she even started to put them on, she asked what seasoning and sauce I wanted. I said I’d wait until we got to that part, and she said—again, I quote—“Just tell me so you can check out.”
So I told her I wanted salt, pepper, oregano (if they had it), and only mustard. She then started to make the sandwich while I was being helped by a nice young girl at the cashier.
I looked over at my sandwich and saw she had put mayo on it. I had to repeat twice to get her attention that I did not want mayo, only mustard. She then harshly threw it away, slapped the seasoning and mustard on the counter, and remade my sandwich without looking at or acknowledging me.
I didn’t catch her name, but I was there at 11:00 a.m. and got back in my vehicle at 11:22 a.m. I tired to fine a place to leave a customer review but there is nothing on the site. So I thought I would...
Read moreMy mom and I just came in here for lunch yesterday, and all of the employees were Asians none of them understood English at all, I heard some customers having to repeat what they wanted at least 3 or 4 times! There was also a huge line that went out the door cause they were moving super slow. The manager that was on duty Tera was super super slow!! She would take her dear sweet time putting on avacado and condiments and stood around mostly with her mouth hanging open just staring off into space. The soda machines were running out so the machines in the back were making a loud noise and Tera said "sorry girls I will take care of it, she went in the back for half an hour came out and was still noisey" all the Asian employees to as they were making food were scratching there heads and all there hair was hanging down as they were making the food. To top it off we ordered to large drinks so we went and got tea once we filled our cups all the way we come to find out they had no low calorie sweetener all they had was sugar. We tried calling the GM to complain but she never picked up or got back to us. Very...
