Dale Earnhardt, the Intimidator. Number three. He's a big deal here in Kannapolis, a local boy who did good. The local minor league baseball team is named after him, The Kannapolis Intimidators and they play at Intimidator Stadium. State Road 3 is named Dale Earnhardt Blvd. Big deal.

This plaza between A and B streets in downtown Kannapolis is in his honor. Nine feet tall and made of bronze, it weights 900 pounds and is surrounded by walkways and gardens.
