Edit: its been 2 months and I have still been going cuz its the closest place open when I have free time. They have started cleaning more but still tons of dust, bathrooms still gross because they do the bear minimum cleaning. Everything ,needs a new coat of paint or atleast a touch up. Last time I complained about the floor they put a new coat but didn't actually fix the floor its still overly warped and damaged. People still just dropping off leaving there kids like a daycare. They added floor "skate guards" but they just skate around and play one their phones while ignoring clear safety problems like kids skating the wrong direction. Sometimes groups of kids will just block entire areas of skate just standing in the middle of the rink blocking travel and making it mor dangerous to skate. Last time I was there I watched an employee run out in shoes to chase his friend who was skating and tried to knock him down as they both nearly knocked down a bunch of people. There is no order on the rink floor its like mad max on roller skates. I'm surprised that this place hasn't been sued with how many people I see get hurt here that could have been avoided if the rules where being enforced properly by the skate guards but they aren't so one could say the business is being highly negligent, and "skate at your own risk" is not a legal defense with much weight.
By far one of the worst roller rinks I have been to, very dirty and dusty. The bathrooms are gross and damaged. The roller rink has one side that is completely sunken and uneven with some gapes that catch your wheels. A bunch of people drop of their kids like its a daycare and a lot of them can not skate well enough to be on the normal rink and rather then have staff move them to the small practice rink they let them cause accidents and hurt themselves. I saw a toddler barely up to my knee skating on the normal rink get taken out by another kid. Additionally, there isn't any staff on the floor enforcing rules like no racing or horse play. Mason road skate center is a dangerous and...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times for various birthday parties and other such events, and every time I’m left thinking about how great the place could be, but it’s always so disappointing. As it is, the only way it’s safe and fun is if you have your own skates and you don’t eat the food. I say this because you want to avoid interacting with the “staff” at all costs. Even the “adult” taking the money as you walk in is rude. It gets worse if you have to ask for skates. The skates are clearly not maintained. For example, I got a pair that had one incredibly long lace and one extremely short. The rude teenager just rolls his eyes and throws another pair at you, which was worse. When you’re out skating, you can feel one skate is semi-lubricated and rolls well, the other barely rolls. It’s better to deal with it than have to talk with the moron passing out the skates. Hungry? Try to wait until you leave because the obnoxious teenager working that area is a pill. She whispers so low that I had to ask several times to repeat. $14 for a terrible pizza that should cost $5 at most. It took 30 minutes to be ready. All the food and drinks are way overpriced and terrible, all served up with a side of attitude. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the idiots kids racing around who apparently work there are extremely dangerous. I was almost run into several times, as were the kids. When the DJ stopped and played red light, green light, these idiots were still doing nothing to help anyone. Overall, the place is filthy, dangerous, and run by obnoxious teenagers. I will...
Read moreThe management is either unwilling or unable to control their employees and/or their friends. This group of teenagers skate absurdly dangerously around dozens upon dozens of very young children. I personally witnessed one of this core group of teenagers crash and slam the face of a 5 year old girl into the ground. This individual then got up and proceeded to laugh (I understand that sounds hard to even picture) rather than to show any concern or offer help. I confronted this individual and was immediately swarmed by several of his buddies in his defense. "I was pushed" was the answer. Next I spoke with the manager (I assumed) who was with the only other adult busy collecting the money at the entrance. He came out and even spoke with some of the teens who promptly ignored him and went directly back to skating dangerously around all the young children. The adult seemed helpless. Even the referee shirted employees were contributing to the dangerous skating and were no help. Strange these teens would want to spend their time here clearly showing off for all the young kids. Sad. I recommend going to find a nice parking lot where you aren't endangering little girls and everyone else on the floor. I foresee a lawsuit in this rink's future, and I assure you, those "skate at your own risk" signs aren't going to help when it's the employees fostering the dangerous...
