Cafe Asian — Restaurant in Katy

Wonton soup was brown not clear, fried rice was hard, and the chicken barely had any sauce. I did go right before closing, however if they can't suit patrons that late they shouldn't accept orders @that time. 1 star for the eggroll and 1 star for the price.

Updated review on 11/30/22 I decided to give this place another try as it was one of my fav Chinese places before the pandemic. My last order was terrible, but they offered to remake it. I haven't been back since and I should've stayed away. They changed owners, painted, and added new floors but there's a gap between the floor and the door. On my way out I noticed a huge cockroach in that crevice, yuck. I ordered the black pepper chicken lunch special. When I asked about the soup it normally comes w/ they said it's no longer included in the lunch special and is 75 cents extra. They're using new containers that hold less meat/veggies and more rice and it leaked all over the bag. I had more onions than chicken, and some of them were raw along w/ the carrots and bell peppers. There wasn't much sauce either and it was so bland I had to add Asian seasoning to it. Also the egg rolls are tiny now and tasteless. I won't waste...

This was my first visit since ownership changed approximately 6 months ago. Trying to decide if I wanted to go to Lubys cafeteria I noticed the open sign on at China Cafe at 10:30 am & decided to stop. Gentleman at the counter was nice and we chatted a couple of minutes. I ordered Kung Pao chicken extra to go. I too own several Asian restaurants in the downtown & springbranch area and believe quality and excellent service is the recipe for a successful business. This was the worst order I have received. I love vegetables however I had to search hard to find and meat and it was rubbery almost like tofu, not spicy filled with watery veggies with a hint of meat. I don't believe in taking shortcuts . realizing that we are in a recession, I realize we still must adapt to quality customer service. Otherwise , This place won't be in business long.I win be going back. I'd much rather pay more for quality good food. After I saw several other reviews, I should have gone to Lubys cafeteria or...

I've been coming to this place for 10+ years. Food is very delicious and consistent. Good Service and good quality food. I choose to eat there when it comes right of the kitchen, but they do offer delivery and I think Doordash service. Portions are good. I've tried other places around the area to see whats out there, but I keep coming back to this place. Other Asian restaurants do not even compare to Cafe Asian - Its just good !!!

This is my all time favorite: Egg Roll Hot and Sour Soup Special Fried Rice Generals Chicken - Extra Spicy Hot Tea

The price of the combo is fair and you get a lot.

I highly recommend this place and will continue to enjoy there food for years to come !!!
