I don't even know where to begin. I have nothing but praises to sing for Ted and his staff. I've been there before for shoes and was always happy with the experience.... but I really think I need to share my recent experience with this amazing store during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently I've been having pain during my runs, and at a loss as to why. I even took myself to the doctors to try and figure out what was going on. With an attempt to make a long story short... I reached out to Ted for a Virtual Fitting. Quite honestly- being that the state is closed down, I wasn't expecting to get the thorough help that I received until the Stores were allowed to open back up. (But that's not the case)
This past Saturday, I inquired for a Virtual Fitting for Monday. Within a short amount of time, I had a response from Ted asking for very detailed information about the problems that I was experiencing. (He asked for photos too) And after a few email exchanges, he was able to provide me with the most detailed and informative explanations of what my issues may have been caused by and had recommendations on which shoes may best fit my needs. Additionally.... because his customers aren't allowed to go in to try on the shoes.... he's offering the most amazingly generous offer. If the shoes you purchase don't work for you, for whatever reason, you can donate the shoes to a charity and he will replace the shoes with another pair. How thoughtful is that?! AWESOME.
Ted... goes above and beyond x1000%. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. The speediness of his replies. (Even on a weekend). His eagerness and willingness to learn about my issues and what I was looking for, and just the time he took to really hear me out. I have so much to learn, and not once did I ever feel silly for the questions I was asking. (Especially because clearly I was clueless about how important a runner's shoe really is.) There really is a science behind picking the right shoe, and Ted will definitely help you navigate the options best for you. I'm just so thrilled with the whole experience.
Truly! ...
Read moreThey exist and have some shoes that are hard to find elsewhere, so 2 stars.
First I was sold light trail shoes when I told the associate that I needed them for hiking and backpacking- it is common to wear trail runners for this but the more rugged trail runners, not the ones designed for "road and light trail running" a quick Google search upon arriving home and I knew I had a very wrong pair of shoes.
Their return policy is for store credit only, which is ridiculous.
Went back (to use up store credit) with 3 specific models that I had researched and tried on elsewhere to find the correct size. When I asked to see these shoes the sales associate refused to bring shoes before measuring my feet, measured and confirmed the exact sizes for the exact brands I asked for... then didn't even look at the shoes once they were on my feet and had zero useful advise for choosing between the two he had in my size.
ALSO I told him I had insoles from my physical therapist, his immediate response was to start trying to sell me the store's insoles (which I got duped into last time and already had at home but didn't tell him because I was annoyed at the premise that he would try to replace something given by a medical professional) After some back and forth "my physical therapist gave me these so I trust them" "ours provide yada yada that those from the pt don't" I said basically "unless saying you're more qualified than my pt this conversation is over" his response was no joke, "Actually I have a college degree in exercise science" I basically stopped talking to him after that.
UNTIL he couldn't find my return record and store credit because my name was spelt wrong in the system. This would have only been minorly annoying if he didn't keep asking for the return receipt but when I made the return I asked and they assured me that I did not need the receipt, its in the computer. He eventually found it and I have my well researched shoes and they have the $10 difference between the original shoes and the ones I...
Read moreIf you have not had the pleasure of meeting Ted or the opportunity to visit his store located in Keene NH you are missing out! Lace up your old (or new sneakers) get in your car or go for a run, however, you can get there...like the song says..."just get there!" If it is your first stop, it will be your last. The store is perfect, something for every need of running long distances or your first 5k, as well as all your comfortable walking needs. The staff is very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with, it shows that many hours of training goes into each employee. Ted's passion for exercise and getting you the right sneakers can be seen throughout the community at different races and events throughout the year. This September I will be looking for him at the Clarence Delmar Half Marathon, where he sponsors and volunteers his time. If you live close to the area he hosts informational events where customers can come in and learn about different footwear. If you have the opportunity to attend or learn about the pressure point analysis it may be a life changer in your foot health!! Recently, my grandmother (from Belmont MA) and I were visiting in the area and due to me talking so much about "The best sneaker store'' she had to come along as well. I was hoping to work with Ted or Thomas but due to my schedule, I missed seeing either of them. My grandmother was helped by the great staff. Initially, she was just browsing anything but fell in love with a beautiful pair of sandals and had to make a purchase! A few days later I reached out to Ted online apologizing to him I was unable to meet with him at the time. He offered for me to set up an appointment with either him or Tom when it was convenient for me, but turned out he was able to give me all the assistance through conversations over the phone and online. This is one more way Ted goes the extra mile, loves what he does and truly wants the best fit for your feet. Thank you, Ted, for years of dedication and all you do within...
