I recently went to the Lego store at Dadeland Mall with my 6 year old son to purchase a Star Wars AT-AT Walker for his birthday. Tyler, a sales associate at the store informed us the item was not available, but it would be available the following morning. My son and I returned the following morning at 10:00 a.m. (opening time) to find the Lego store closed. I called an associate at the Lego Aventura Mall location, who informed me the Lego store at Dadeland Mall was having some technical issues and would not open until 12 noon. After waiting outside the store for 1 1/2 hours, with an impatient 6 year old, the store finally opened. We walked up directly to Tyler to purchase the AT-AT. He subsequently informed us they did not have any AT-ATs because they weren't at the store to receive the arriving shipments.
I reminded him we returned, as he instructed us the previous day, to make the purchase. He was very dismissive and told me there was nothing he could do. I told him it's my son's birthday and it would be nice he made an attempt to resolve the situation. He reiterated there was nothing he could do. I then asked him to speak with the manager and Tyler seemed bothered that I asked and reluctantly pointed to Frances, the store manager.
I explained to Frances that Tyler informed us to return to the store because they didn't have the AT-AT in stock the previous day. Frances initially told she couldn't do anything because of the computer glitch or whatever happened, not even allow us to preorder the item. After I informed her it's for my son's birthday, who is standing next to me asking me why they don't have the AT-AT, she finally gave in and offered to call me when the item was available and pay over the phone.
Everything worked out after going to the Lego store three days in a row and persuading the manager to work with us. The demeanor of the associates at the Lego store at Dadeland Mall was completely unprofessional and unattentive, especially for a company like Lego that allegedly caters to the imagination of customers...
Read moreI just want to start off by saying the staff in the store is always nice no matter what time of day I've walked in the store or the time of year BUT my experience yesterday was not the best ... my son is autistic and deaf , while he was running around the store ,me and my boyfriend to took turns watching him and looking at items . In the midst of all this, different associates approached me and my partner about 10 times if we needed assistance but did not approach others in the store that amount of times . My son even picked out a toy and the young lady said that she would take it to the front register ( as if she assumed we were going to steal it because we were already in the store for sometime looking at the products, bc my son has disabilities I was trying to find a Lego set that was best for him).. but I saw that no other associates did that to to any other customers .... it was a little embarrassing and frustrating...
It felt like we were just being watched the...
Read moreI wanted to share an amazing experience I had at the LEGO Store thanks to one of your employees, Eddie. I brought my two young cousins in, and from the moment we walked through the doors, Eddie made the visit unforgettable.
He greeted us with a warm smile and went out of his way to engage with the kids—asking them about their favorite LEGO sets and showing genuine interest in what they liked. He took the time to show them some of the newest sets, helped them build small creations at the play table, and even gave a few fun building tips that really impressed them.
Eddie’s enthusiasm, patience, and kindness made such a difference. My cousins left the store not only excited about their new LEGO sets but also talking nonstop about how “cool” Eddie was. As an adult, I really appreciated how he made the experience so special and welcoming for them.
Thank you, Eddie, for turning an ordinary store visit into a truly memorable one. Employees like you are what make LEGO...
