MIP not only doesn't accept cash, they're also incredibly rude when you voice your disappointment about it. I went to purchase several items to bring to a meeting and after pulling out my cash I was told, "we don't take cash." I said in a low and respectful tone, "Well that's disappointing. I probably won't be returning, then." I paid with my debit card and when the tip screen popped up I started to lift my hand to leave a tip and the man behind the counter quickly whipped the screen around so I couldn't do so. I asked if I could leave a tip and he looked at me and said with a snarky tone, "it's ok. You don't have to." Then he walked away to pour my coffee. So I took out four one dollar bills figuring they wouldn't mind a tip in cash but nope. They wouldn't even accept that. The young lady who stepped up to the counter acted like I was trying to tip her with a cup of dog feces. And after all that, everything I purchased was lackluster at best. Certainly nothing like the coffee or pastries I get when I'm in Paris. I suppose that made my decision to not return much easier. I've owned and still own several businesses and will never understand how any business owner would think that not accepting cash is a smart idea....
Read moreQuite a let down. Our group went for breakfast at Mornings in Paris, as it was the only place open nearby for coffee and breakfast at 7:15. Between our group of 6, all but one person was unable to order the items that they chose off their menus that they showed us. Evidently the espresso machine hadn't been started up prior to opening at 7, so by 7:15 the staff was unable to make anything that required espresso, steamed milk, etc. (5 of the 6 of us could not get the drinks we wanted). Then, we started to order food, and we were told that crepes aren't available until 8:00, even though they open at 7:00. We each settled on pre-made food, since we couldn't order anything ready made. While the sweets were good, unfortunately everyone that ordered a sandwich was very disappointed. They were all extremely dry, and minimally filled. The turkey sandwich (pictured) only had turkey filled half way across the dry bread. Our group was mostly annoyed with how the staff handled the situations. Rather than acknowledging any of the issues/apologizing, they just continued on as if we had a perfect experience. No apologies for the lack of available food or drinks or lack of preparedness for...
Read moreReally hate to write a one star review, especially after being so excited to try this place out. My boyfriend needed to get some work done, so we decided to get some coffee and pastries before starting work. We ordered 2 Lattes, an almond croissant and bought a thing of lobster greeting cards. A few hours later, he had to take one more call, so we went back to the coffee shop because we had loved it and I bought their English breakfast tea latte with maple syrup (so now have bought 3 lattes, food and trinkets). I left for the duration of his meeting, and during his 20 minutes sitting there, a British man, presumably the owner or manager, came over and repeatedly interrupted his meeting multiple times (even after saying he was in a meeting and couldn’t talk) saying that it’s rude to use his facilities If he wasn’t going to buy anything. My boyfriend then pointed out the things he had already bought and said he was going to buy more once the meeting was over. No apology given for this rude interruption. Overall terrible service and not the way a business...
