Big Shanty Festival — Local services in Kennesaw

Besides all of the wonderful crates creations that people were displaying which were amazing! My nieces and I regrettably experienced a ridiculous amount of RACISM from some of the vendors… it was quite disheartening when we stopped and prayed with a pastor at one booth… my nieces accepting Jesus that day… to go a couple booths down to be completely ignored and shunned by a women selling candles, soaps, and body scrubs… if you went then you know exactly where I’m talking about… as I inquire with the woman about which one was her favorite she looked at me and turned around and completely walked away from I repeated the question giving her the benefit of the doubt… and GOD BLESS HER HUSBAND 10 Fold…. Embarrassed at her behavior answered the question for her “Her favorite is the volcano” thanked him for responding to me and not ignoring our questions as she tried to pretend to be busy… After we walked away I had to them explain away this woman’s ignorance that yes unfortunately some people still have PREJUDICE IN THEIR HEART AND PRE JUDGE PEOPLE BASED ON THE SHADE OF THEIR SKIN… because I as soon as we walked away the woman began helping the people who came after us. We are God Fearing people so we know that Vengeance is the Lords and we need not worry about it… I feel bad for the embarrassment she caused her husband at least in that moment whom seemed very sweet and kind hearted. This is only one person but they were several encounters like this at SEVERAL other booths! So I want to say we enjoyed the festival and the friendly people but the ones like that woman I describe only blocked their own blessings by treating us this way! God...

Incredible vendors, food, and entertainment. We found plenty of awesome items and gifts for friends. Parking can be a little crazy given how many people are there. Do not forget to pack a water bottle...
