A Easter Dinner Fail. In the area visiting our KSU student for holiday dinner. Upon entering this restaurant 1st flag the establishment was not busy on a Easter Sunday and very easy to get seated with no wait and other area restaurants had a wait.Waiter name was Chase who was very polite and well versed on menuā¦Appetizers ordered - hush puppies were delicious BUT the award winning wings were over cooked and hard but edible. Flag 2 bourbon salmon tasted really old not fresh was incredibly salty and tasted like it was over marinated, the feta scallion mashed potatoes tasted like store bought / microwaved potatoes, we told our waiter but no action / effort to correct. Green beans were too salty, pretzel pork chop under seasoned and incredibly sweet. Other than the hush puppies the Gouda Mac and cheese was a 10/10 very good. Flag 3 Shrimp & Grits came with capers on topā¦We make better shrimp and grits at home⦠their recipe was tasteless and not the traditional recipe. Overall this was a less than mediocre dining experience which was very disappointing as we wanted to avoid the normal chain restaurants to get a more farm to table fresh ingredient dinner experience. When visiting the area we will just stick to Cava, Copelands, Whole Foods bar or Cracker Barrel where we can trust the food will be edible and consistent. 1885 perhaps seek professional chef and restaurateur consultation to fix whatās broken in your kitchen and restaurantā¦..Dining...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame to 1885 Grill with a friend after hearing all about it and had a good time!
The service was outstanding despite an event starting soon and we were attended to constantly. Waiter came by multiple times to check on us and make sure everything was alright.
The food was good, mainly with the appetizers being okay while the entree and dessert were absolutely amazing.
We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes as well as the Smoked Salmon and Artichoke Dip. The fried green tomatoes were good, but the chow-chow and pimento cheese didnāt pair well with it. We didnāt enjoy the smoked salmon and artichoke dip at all, but when we alerted the waiter he took it back and didnāt charge us for it which was very kind of him.
For the main entree I ordered the 1885 Burger and the Mac & Cheese and absolutely devoured it. Was one of the best burgers iāve ever had! It was seasoned well, the toppings paired great with it, and the Mac & Cheese was a great addition. My friend ordered the Grilled Salmon and Mac & Cheese and said it was good but couldāve used more salt which he added himself.
Lastly we ordered a slice of Cheesecake and it was some of the best iāve ever had from a restaurant. Creamy, delicious, and not too heavy!
Overall it was a great experience with some delicious food and I will be returning when I get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to the 1885 Acworth, 1885 (Chattanooga both locations) and now KENNESAW. Service was excellent! We were seated promptly and our server was very nice. We Ari Ed a bit before 5 pm. We ordered the smoked salmon and artichoke dip to start. It is served cold with warm pita triangles and you will need to ask for more of the pita. We were given six pieces, and the bowl is a good size. We ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos which were very good. We also ordered a salad with feta, dried cranberries, almond and lemon rosemary dressing. Dressing was not to my liking at all. Too much Rosemary. I ended up with Ranch. Balsamic had way too much oil in it so only choices were ranch or blue cheese. I also ordered fresh salmon added and cooked medium. It was cooked to perfection. We ordered a chocolate cake and pecan bread pudding for dessert. Good portions. Pecan bread pudding was burnt so badly I would not EVER order it again. You could tell it was black all over and it certainly affected the taste. No way they couldnāt tell the bread pudding was so badly burned. We didnāt order any cocktails but they looked great. Nice ambience. We will revisit this location. Much better service than Acworth location although parking is difficult. Not much in way of true...
