Situated in Kennesaw downtown, this is a quaint coffee shop built in a recently renovated historic house. The shop has a lot of seating, both outside and inside. There is a parking lot on the backside of the property. This is a dog friendly place and has a small dog play area. The back yard also has a place to play corn hole. There is a fire pit area with Adirondack chairs around it and a porch area with rocking chairs to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air with coffee and food. The outside space is beautifully decorated with multiple vintage items and strings lights. The inside of the coffee shop is all white and they have a work/study room as well. The walls are full of colorful posters and quirky quotes. They also sell various merchandise in the shop. The server at the counter was very friendly and courteous. We had Cappuccino and White Mocha Frozen Blended drink. While I would have liked my cappuccino a little stronger, the other drink was delicious. They have a wide variety of coffee and food items on the menu which one can try. They were open till 8:00 PM when we visited them but recently they have started closing at 5:00 PM. It would be great if they could stay open till late evening on weekends. If you are in Kennesaw downtown area and want to relax and hang around a cool place, this is it!

Well this is a nice little coffee shop in downtown Kennesaw. Near the railroad museum and the new park, they're building. One thing that's nice is there's plenty of parking in the back which is at a premium sometimes in downtown Kennesaw. Also, what is nicest is very well landscaped on the sides. There's a beautiful run for the resident dog. There is some chairs to sit and enjoy your coffee and pastries. Also, there is some cornhole pitch area on a nice day. It's fun to do that. Although it is named the lazy Labrador, unfortunately with the Cobb county/ Kennesaw health department rules unless you have a service animal, no dogs are allowed inside. So this was not the wish of the owner. The owner wanted it to be a dog friendly place but unfortunately it's can't be. But it is dog friendly on the outside. The service the people were quite friendly. Happy to take care of you. The coffees and pastries were wonderful. It is a great place. She should really try to find it and stop in. You'll really enjoy it and it's always great to work with a local owner and a local restaurant and support your local economy. By the way, look at the photos and answer the question. What did your dog name you? Lol šŸ˜…

I had to put my car in the shop, so I needed a place to wait for a while. I searched for coffee shops and figured I’d give Lazy Labrador a try, even if I had to walk 1 1/2 miles to get there. When I walked in to order, there was no, ā€œHelloā€ since the barista was busy making drinks. I felt much better when she finished the last one, came to the register, and gave me the warmest greeting. That made up for the initial impression. My order was the hot Kirby’s signature latte. I found a small table and did some writing as I sipped my drink, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The place was fairly busy. A business conversation about entrepreneurship. Two college students doing a Bible study. A person reading quietly. A mom and her kid having a treat. Lazy Labrador felt like a place where anyone could hang out and experience a chill vibe. I might frequent if I lived close by. Perhaps I’ll go back once more to try their award-winning coffee blend.

TLDR: This is one of those extra special coffee shops that you rarely find. Beyond excellent in every facet. More below.

Folks, in this age of coffee shops on almost every corner, very rarely does a shop come around that gets everything right: drink selection, flavors, seating, snacks, atmosphere, parking, customer care, and the list could go on.

Having worked for three different shops between Kennesaw, Marietta, and Woodstock, I can confidently say that Lazy Labrador is that exceptional "one in ten thousand" shop.

Drink selection: The menu is vast, but not overwhelming. There's a clear order to the vastness, and finding what you want is not difficult at all.

Flavors: Most shops will carry around ten flavors, with some specialty seasonal flavors sprinkled here and there throughout the year. Lazy Labrador has easily 15+ flavors. That opens up loads of flavor combinations to experiment with, and eventually find one that suits you perfectly. Being a former barista myself, I'm always mixing flavors that nearby customers wouldn't have thought to try. Just this morning, I had two people say that they should've ordered my flavor combination after hearing what it was (vanilla and cinnamon). Its nice to know that there's a local place where people can enjoy those unique experiences that I was privileged to for a while as a barista.

Seating: There's TONNES. And once you think there might not be enough, you end up finding more. The outdoor section(s) could house an entire post-fellowship Church crowd, the dog area has a surprisingly good amount of space, and the indoor area(s), even when busy, have always had enough seating. The upstairs nook/study exudes levels of cozy that I haven't found at a shop ever.

Snacks: There's a very fine line between drinks and snacks at a coffee shop. Too many snacks/food and you run the risk of straying out of shop territory and more into small restaurant/boutique. Once that happens, you can easily find yourself having to hire proper cooks and kitchen equipment, not to mention the litany of extra serv-safe measures you need to adhere to. And a lot of baristas will tell you that they secretly hate having to deal with food.

Atmosphere: Lazy Labrador is snuggled inside a historical building. What more can you ask for! The design inside immediately gives off an air of comfort and relaxation. The floor plan is laid out in such a way that going from ordering to sitting flows nice and smoothly. The bathrooms are clear cut. The lighting is crisp yet soft. And the music selection is always tasteful. You get the sense that you can spend hours here. I'm very much a grab-and-go person, but every time I step foot in Lazy Labrador, I wish I had brought my iPad with me.

Parking: Plenty of bays for staying a while, and the city lot across the road is a mere 25 yards away. I've never had a problem finding a place to park, which is not what I can say about the shops that I've worked for. It's a breath of fresh air to find a place with ample dedicated parking in this age of cramped city space.

Customer Care: Every time I stop by, the ladies behind the counter are cheerful and friendly, and I always find myself being engaged in conversation. That's a very rare and welcome thing, as it immediately makes me feel that they're invested in me as a customer even for the brief amount of time that I'm there. The owners, Susan and Bob, are clearly immensely invested in the success of their business, the delight of their customers and community, and the satisfaction of their employees.

If you've made it this far, let me just say this: Lazy Labrador truly is that "one in ten thousand" coffee shop. I absolutely love making my trip there every morning, and hope that if you're a resident or just driving through, that you'll treat yourself to the exceptional experience that is...

It’s posted as dog friendly but it’s not. It’s literally stated on the Google maps info that it’s dog friendly outside but they fail to mention that means you will have no access to actually order. It’s just a very inconvenient situation. I feel like maybe I speak a different language because if it states you can bring your dog and it’s dog friendly (outside) then you should have a way to actually be served coffee. I understand you can’t eat inside but other coffee shops who don’t publicize dog friendly even let you order quickly then walk out. When your whole theme is for dogs. Maybe you should have a walk up window so people with dogs can place an order or at least let people place an order quickly inside and offer to bring it out . But to be told I’m not welcome with my dog is crazy. I understand your reply but you are not offering a solution for people who actually are single with no one to hold their dogs outside. So it makes it impossible for me to have access to services at a place that specifically says it’s dog friendly when googled.

First time I Got my coffee and went outside with my pup to work. Next time I was offered my dog be held outside, the 3rd time I was told my dog is not welcome in for me to even place an order for coffee. They present dog friendly but are not. I have had zero issues at other coffee shops with quickly ordering and going outside to work. If you bring your dog they will side eye you and tell you aren’t welcome inside with your dog. They said I could tie her to a post outside or leave her unattended in a fenced in area at the back of the property which is completely inappropriate. That is very irresponsible dog ownership to leave a puppy tied alone with strangers coming by it. My thing is don’t present as dog friendly if you make dog owners feel uncomfortable...
