I have a hunch that friendships have ended over the debate of the best pizza in Kennesaw. Afterall, you can find everything from gimmicky large pies, deep dish, stuffed crusts, or even cheap hot-and-ready $5 heartburn givers. But there's one thing we can all agree on, when we have outstandingly good pizza, we know it. That's exactly what many folks have found with Vesuvio Pizzeria Napoletana. The fresh and premium ingredients are the first thing you’ll notice. You won’t find the average tired and sub-par toppings here. Instead, you will savor things like Vesuvio cherry and San Marzano tomatoes, Calabrese peppers, and Cotto ham. Most of Vesuvio’s ingredients, including the meats and cheeses, are imported from Naples. You can choose between the red and white pizza’s, known as Rosse and Bianche and both are equally delicious. There are a handful of specialty pizzas featuring both varieties and you can even create a masterpiece your own. I’d like to recommend my favorite, the Diavola. You'll love it if you are in the mood for a spicy hot combination. Below the toppings is what’s most remarkable and what keeps me coming back for more, the crust. It’s delightful. It’s a perfect balance of being light and airy while still being tender and moist. The edges are perfectly charred where kissed by the high heat of the imported brick oven. That signature char adds a perfect touch to the overall flavor and intent of the pizza. Simply put, its perfect. There are a few items for those who want somewhat of a lighter fare by way of salads and appetizers. A handful of artisan sandwiches are a temping option. There's even Lasagna made with bolognese (meat sauce) and besciamella. The menu is rounded out with a few fresh desserts. Look for lunchtime specials for two and even catering options if you should have a need. Soft drinks including imported sparkling waters are available but by single serve cans and bottles only (no fountain). Complimentary water is available for self-serve for the cheapskates. There is also a modest selection of beers and wine. The dining room itself is underwhelming but it’s clean and inviting and has a view of the beautiful tile adorned oven. Your ordering routine will be counter-service and mainly self-seating beyond that. While your pizza is delivered to your table, it is pretty much self-serve from there with a center of the room column/counter holding all the trimmings you may expect to find at a pizza place. On nice days, I prefer the patio seating with views of main street and people watching as they go hurrying along. Oh yeah, the restroom is clean which is always a good indication of a responsibly managed restaurant. Overall, I think anyone who appreciates artisan pizza with premium ingredients will love it here. Watching the owner, Massimo, who is a native of Naples, artfully prepare your pizza and bake it in that beautiful brick oven is a sight to see. The pizza speaks for itself.

Fabulous addition to downtown Kennesaw! After the wandering the stalls at the regular Monday afternoon Farmers Market in downtown Kennesaw. We jumped over here to Vesuvios for a quick bite. The setting is informal, small but open and is spotlessly clean inside. Staff were instantly welcoming and the menu is varied enough to please most people without being overwhelming too. We opted for a Cheese, Pepperoni and Sausage pizza and a Bruschetta con Burrata, (both pictured). Everything arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Truly felt like authentic Italian food. Portions were the right size too. We washed it down with a Peroni and a Chianti, adding to the authenticity. The standout is the Buffalo Mozzarella they are using. Definitely try something with that. So creamy and fresh. Good luck to this new business. I can’t wait to go back.

I recently visited this restaurant based on a coworker’s recommendation, and I’m so glad I did! The pizza is incredibly light and delicious—just the right balance of flavors without leaving you feeling overly full. If you’re a fan of ice cream, you absolutely have to try their gelato! I went with both flavors available that day, chocolate chip and strawberry, and it was truly the best gelato I’ve ever had (though, to be fair, I haven’t made it to Italy yet!). This spot fills up fast—I arrived right at 11:30 a.m., and it got busy almost immediately, which just shows how popular it is. The service was impressive, with quick, fresh food and friendly staff. For the quality you get, the prices are spot-on, making it an easy addition to my list of favorite places to eat. Make sure to check it out; it’s a gem worth visiting!

We read about Vesuvio and were stoked to hear that a Neapolitan pizza place had opened in the heart of downtown Kennesaw. Massimo Andreozzi is the former chef at Sotto Sotto and Fritti in Inman Park, and after a few years of living in Kennesaw, decided to hang his own shingle in Cobb County.

The menu has traditional Neapolitan pies, 4 toppings or less, and the food is stellar. Cooked in a wood fired oven, Massimo and his staff nail the perfect pizza.

There is a wide variety of options: white pizza (no sauce), pizza rosse (pizza with sauce), a variety of traditional appetizers, salads, and panuozzo (sandwiches)...and a few desserts.

Vesuvio also has a small patio that's perfect for nice weather. I have a feeling that once Spring gets here and they get their liquor license, they're going to have full house on a regular basis.

Massimo has chosen to spare no expense on quality ingredients, and while his pizza's average about $15 per pizza, the investment is worth the quality.

We wanted to try a red pie and a white pie, so we had the Capricciosa and the Robiola e Crudo, along with an arugula salad (the lemon dressing that came with this salad was perfect).

If you like pesto, goat cheese and prosciutto, the Robiola e Crudo is a total show stopper. Mind-blowingly good. Don't sleep on this one.

The Capricciosa (San Marzano tomatoes, roasted mushrooms, black olives, artichokes, Cotto ham and fresh mozzarella) was also stellar.

The crust is a huge piece of this style of pizza and Vesuvio just crushes it. Light, perfectly cooked, and delicate.

Make note too...pizza's come out fast; real fast, so if you want a quick serve lunch or dinner, Vesuvio has you covered.

There is a build your own pizza option as well, but I recommend trying their traditional pies first; you can't go wrong.

A welcome addition to Cobb County and a great surprise for downtown Kennesaw, everyone should prioritize Vesuvio. The...

This is hands down the best pizza I have ever had and the service is amazing.

I do need to mention one very very very IMPORTANT DETAIL…do not and I repeat do not tip with your card!!!

The system that they use to run credit/debit cards is not set up to get your tips to the servers.

If you go to this restaurant and trust me you need to go to this restaurant make sure to BRING CASH if you want to tip!!!

The hardworking staff receives no tips if you tip on your card so please for the love of god make sure to tip in cash.

The people that work here literally kill themselves to make sure you have a perfect dining experience and they need to be taken care of.

This is not me bad mouthing this restaurant because that would be impossible because the restaurant is beyond amazing.

But it is a heads up that you need to stop by an ATM to get your tip $ so that you can show your appreciation for the staff!

Once again I would like to state that the restaurant and the food and the owner is A1… Unfortunately their computer system is bottom of the barrel and does not have the capacity to tip the staff out at the end of the night so make sure to bring CASH TO TIP the hard working staff.

If you are a good customer and a great person which I know you are please take the extra step to bring CASH so you can TIP the professional hard working staff that has always gone above and beyond everytime I have ever been here.

Every business needs to start somewhere and they need to save money any way they can…unfortunately that involves using a computer system that is not able to tip out the staff even if you leave a tip on your card.

Be a good person and be a great customer and BRING CASH so that you can show your...
