RACISM. Hurt confused disturbed and humiliated by the racist rhetoric I listened to by a quorum of white men at the register SITTING AND TALKING. not assisting not being customer friendly. . They said "they protest for what THEY want what about US Then I heard vice president Harris didn't greet Israel but they didn't call her vice president Harris they said HER SO DISRESPECTFULLY. They talked about black people not paying their student loans not paying their electric bills IN THEIR WORDS THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY NOTHING! I WAS ABSOLUTELY STUNNED. As a taxpayer property owner and citizen whose grandfather fought in world war two great-grandfather fought in world war I and Korea. I was flabbergasted and thoroughly disgusted by this incredible racist rhetoric. Not only did they say that but they said that they are having to make up for the people THOSE PPL who don't pay their bills. It was the most disturbing overt display of racism I have seen in so long they didn't care that I was there I'm the only patron that walked in that they didn't greet they said hello to everyone except me. I'm used to that but in St Vincent de Paul society environment I expect an outpouring of equity and love it has been traumatic traumatic I can't even tell you some of the other things I heard I'm disgusted Disturbed and if you are of color I am begging you not to shop here until something is done about the men that work in the furniture department and to the women that work in the clothing please be kind to every color I saw the women speak so disrespectfully to a Hispanic gentleman who stayed too long around closing it was awful I'm so upset by my experience today I left my dollar pictures I went there to get pictures for a dollar and left them all I don't want anything from St Vincent de Paul nothing nothing I'd Rather have nothing than to patronize a place that would allow people to be treated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in today to donate & shop (despite knowing the prices are way overpriced). I didnāt see any signs about where to donate or times to donate so I asked an employee āHi, is there a place I can donate or is that only during a certain time?ā She said āDonating ends at 2. You missed the deadlineāā Very rudely. I had with me a small bag of designer shoes to donate & asked āIs it okay if I leave these here while I shop?ā She immediately cuts me off before I can even finish and says āNo.ā again very rudely. Then realized what I was going to say & says āOh, to shop?ā I was immediately turned off and knew Iād never spend a dime in there or donate again. I said āNever mind. That was pretty rudeā, and left. A small thing in the grand scheme of my day, but a rude experience nonetheless from a Christian organization. With the high prices, people are shopping & donating out of the goodness of their heartā perhaps instruct your employees/volunteers to react with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShopped here for some furniture and found two great pieces with half off stickers, making my total $60. When I went to the register to pay, I was charged full price. I immediately realized and asked them to refund the $120. He said he did and then charged me the correct amount of $60. I looked at my credit card charges later and found I was charged $120 twice and then the correct price of $60. So when they ārefundedā it I got charged again.
I went in a couple days later and asked them to fix it and they said Iād have to dispute it with my credit card company. After a couple of months the credit card company told us they couldnāt put the money back on our card.
So I reached back out to the store and they said I could come in and speak with the manager, Debbie. She was able to give me a full refund back to my card. Iām not sure why that wasnāt done when we realized their mistake, but Iām glad I donāt have to keep worrying...
