My husband and I have never owned an RV. I had been researching and looking for a few years, more so in the last year. We weren't planning on buying until next year unless we came across a "Unicorn situation." Well, we came across it at Midway RV. I honestly didn't want to look at anymore dealerships because it was always a miserable, high pressure, little knowledge, experience. I saw really good reviews for Midway and a few used RV's I wanted to look at since we were in the area and live about 2.5 hours away. We met DJ and I could tell he wasn't like other sales people we've met in the past. He listened to my indecisive (Class C? Class A?) ramblings of concerns, ideas, needs, costs etc. He was kind and patient. When my husband and I were done talking, DJ picked the vehicle to show us (we were going to look at a couple of class C's and a class A). This was the least expensive of the ones we thought we'd look at, but he was really excited about how nice it was and the quality. It was nicer than any I had looked at previously and cost much less than others I looked at previously. We fell in love. I needed to go home and research the unit and convince myself I wasn't making a mistake. DJ didn't pressure us, didn't try to convince us to put a down-payment first, nothing. He said he understood and he's alway available for any questions. He wasn't kidding. We left and stayed in contact with DJ. He was always helpful, responded quickly, and NEVER PUSHED ANYTHING. We decided to buy the RV. Every part of the process was easy. I've never been anywhere that made a buying process this easy. They know what they are doing. I was buying something that cost (in total) the sales tax amount of most things they sell. We were treated with easy open communication, kindness from all employees we crossed paths with, QUICK responses to all emails and texts. I could go on and on...Ryan went over the RV with us the following week. He explained EVERYTHING and didn't make me feel dumb for my lengthy questions. We were with him for hours during the walk-though. He never rushed us, or got impatient. He helped calm my nerves and taught me SO MUCH. Both DJ and Ryan said multiple times to call them with any questions in the future. They specialize in Newmar. They have the nicest garage and the most beautiful RV's I've ever seen. Their lot is fully accessible and everyone is welcoming. We bought a 2006 National (Dolphin) and the process from start to finish far exceeded any expectations. Sales people get a bad rap (for good reasons sometimes). If you want one of the "good guys" go to DJ. He renewed my faith and this dealership is nothing like the rest! I'm including a picture of me, my husband, DJ, and our...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about the Midway RV. They are a family owned business and they make you feel like part of their family.
My wife and I purchased a 2014 Mercedes Benz Sprinter van in November 2024. Steve Meadows was the salesman we worked with on this purchase. They had just received the vehicle and it had not been in for service or cleaning. When we test drove the vehicle, Steve was very attentive when we discussed items that needed to be inspected when it got to the service department. There were a few questions about the history of the van that he did not immediately know, but he got the answers back to us very quickly.
Midway Service Department has a 120 point inspection process they do before they turn the van over to a customer. The Service Department found several issues, both mechanical and cosmetic with the van and several issues with the coach. The most crucial was a leak in the water heater. ALL issues were either repaired our replaced by Midway at no additional cost to us.
Not only was the Service Department very detailed in their inspection and report, Steve was in regular contact with us to provide updates on the Service work.
Midway offers an additional 30 day warranty starting on the day we picked up the van. There were only a couple very minor items, drawer latches and a shower rod holder, that needed replaced and Midway shipped the parts at no additional charge to us.
Service after the sale.....this is usually what differentiates the good dealers from the not so good ones.
My wife and I are new to owning an RV of any type. Once we started using the van, we had quite a few questions about various equipment in the van, especially the appliances. (Refrig/freezer, hot water systems and AC unit) I had many service and operational related questions since January. Each time I would send an email to Dave Wiltjer, who always responded very quickly and thoroughly to my questions. His knowledge of Sprinter vans and Roadtrek coaches is amazing.
I had to order a couple parts from Dave Johnson in the parts department and he is also very knowledgeable on how and the best places to get parts shipped to us.
The entire sales process was absolutely enjoyable working with Steve and Dave. Their continued service and advice after the sale is almost unheard of in this industry.
I highly recommend that you give this dealer a call for your next...
Read moreMy wife and I have been tent campers and “RVers” for over 50 years. We’ve purchased numerous types of trailers and motorhomes from individuals and BIG-name dealerships in Michigan. We’ve bought new and used units through the years. Some of our worst experiences were purchases from the largest RV dealerships in Michigan. Perhaps you’ve had similar nightmare experiences, like paying huge fees just to make certain the appliances and accessories work normally. It’s truly frustrating after paying those fees you discovery on your first RV trip, something doesn’t work! If you want to avoid those types of problems when buying a used RV, I recommend talking with Ryan Kramer at Midway RV in Grand Rapids, MI. Recently, my wife and I purchased a used motorhome on a consignment sale with Ryan's help. Midway RV takes a different approach to used RV sales-All problems or issues will be identified and repaired before you buy the unit. There are no extra fees to pay for this service. All appliances, accessories, electrical and plumbing items are fully tested by the service department (Our gratitude to Dave ('the Dutchman'). Do you know what else Midway RV does? They clean the RV inside and outside too! No extra charge for that service either. In our case, the motorhome we purchased needed a driver side camera replaced, the cruise control repaired, the engine needed an oxygen sensor, they replaced all 6 tires, recharged the engine A/C and they changed the engine oil and filter plus the generator oil and filter. They filled the propane tank and gas tank ½ full too. And the original asking price was not raised at all! Additionally, I had checked JD Power online for the motorhome’s value and Midway RV had a great price for the unit we bought. Plus, if you are in the market for a Newmar Motorhome, Ryan can help you with new sales too. My wife and I drooled over those rigs! Midway has the best reputation in the industry for sales and service on Newmar motorhomes. It took us over 50 years to find an honest, up front, cover all the bases RV dealership in Michigan. If you are a new RVer, save yourself years of grief by going to Midway RV 1st. They have pre-owned trailers and motorhomes that were traded in listed on their website. In our opinion, Midway RV is simply the most honest, up front RV dealership in...
