This place is a whole flavorful vibe! Retro Indian Grill Indian / Chinese flavor is a hidden gem tucked away in the corner of 52nd & Division right next to a liquor store (so blink and youâll miss it⌠but donât blink, trust me). Walk in and youâre greeted with a super clean, modern setup that still gives off authentic desi charm.
Now letâs talk staff⌠cute AND kind?? I was mesmerized especially by one staff (Dan)memberâs eyes. I donât know if they were trying to hypnotize me or sell me a samosa, but either way, it worked. đ
Customer service? Impeccable. They even let me sample the curry goat before I committed and honey, that first bite was love at first spice. That curry goat had me questioning my life choices for not coming in sooner. Flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and with just the right kick. You could tell it was made with heart.
Theyâve got a TON of menu choices, all with authentic flair and generous portions. Price points? Super reasonable for real Indian food that isnât watered down. Youâre getting the real deal here.

The place feels warm and welcoming with everything made fresh right in front of you. I especially enjoyed the pani puri where the mint water had the perfect spice kick and the tikki chole was hot with imli and date chutney that added real depth of flavor. A must visit spot in Grand Rapids for authentic freshly prepared Indian street food and...

I tried the paneer tikka masala. Itâs rich and creamy with a good amount of spice, but not too hot. The garlic naan was good too. Itâs a thicker, more bready naan with lots of garlic.
Staff seemed friendly, and my order was finished 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled time.
Good size...
