After not reading comics for over 20 years I decided to get back into the arena. After going to several comic stores in the area I chose Goldmine Comics as my go-to store. I'm not sure who else works there but, Andy and Rocky are always helpful, knowledgeable and even great with my daughters that come along every week. My 6-year old looks forward to our weekly trip to Goldmine every Wednesday now. I take advantage of their pull system, and its benefits, as well as using comixology to select my pulls at home weeks before I set foot into the store to pick them up. Every Wednesday incidentally.
The comics are displayed on a long wall and it's easy to see the new releases. Also, every comic is bagged and boarded. This is a necessity to me and I greatly appreciate it. I also appreciate the knowledge that Andy, the employee that I typically deal with, has as far as comics and graphic novels are concerned. I'm always able to get answers to my frequent questions, as well as have interesting conversations as I browse the shelves.
If I was still into Magic cards, all of the display cases are dedicated to the game. They have 100's of action figures, models, statues and a small section dedicated to RPG and board games.
For the life of me I don't understand some of the 1-star reviews I've read here so I wanted to help out a good store and share my...

Younger guy was kind and helpful and referred me to the owner who wasn't available, he gave me biz card and told me to either contact the owner or try and top by again from 12pm - 2pm. Whoever was working that day was polite and eager to help. Simple basic professionalism, appreciated Thanks was looking forward to dropping by again when I could.
Weeks later, stopped in today at around 1:30pm and wasn't really greeted at all so I asked if the owner John was available and got no answer, so I said I was trying to get rid of some of these comics, so I put them on the counter this all happened very fast he didn't reply to my question if John was available still while he quickly skimmed through the 25 or so comic books, so I asked again, "Might well put these in the dollar bin, no he's not here..."

I wasn't acknowledged once despite being in the store almost 15 minutes. The second time, I was looking for a few things so I figured I would give them another shot. Found what I was looking for, on my own, but again wasn't acknowledged until I went to the counter. Stood about 3 minutes. Still nothing. There were I think 2 other customers in the store browsing. It wasn't until I physically put my things on the counter with a loud noise that someone finally asked if I was ready to check out.
I know my way around a card shop. But a simple "hello", "let us know if you need any help" kinda thing would go a long way in their customer service. Plus, their prices are higher than a similar store...
