I first visited Jeffâs gems a few years ago for a gift. It was a good experience and I was happy to find a jewelry shop in Key West. I am a local (born and raised) so I appreciated the kindness from the employee + Jeff. Time passed and I went to make another purchase, once the ring came in it was smaller than I thought so we ordered another and it was perfect. I couldnât pay it in full so sometime later I returned to pay my balance and take the piece of jewelry home. The receipts I had said my balance was around $450ish. That is what I went to pay. I show up, and the lady helping me said my balance is $600+. I told them no, I came to pay what I was told I owed, nothing less nothing more. The person that was helping me was nice at first but quickly caught an attitude. I was there for 30 minutes to an hour trying to be patient while they sorted the pricing out, although I was only going to pay what I was told was my balance. The lady comes back to me and says âyour balance is $80â and I knew that wasnât true. Then she goes back to look in the system, comes back and says âyour balance is $600+ dollarsâ I said no, I came to pay what was written on the receipt from the previous visit when I made the partial payment. She was quick to respond with attitude in which I responded, âYour business revolves around customer service, shouldnât you stick by your word?â I came to pay the $450 and that was all. Finally she said âok just give me the $450â with an attitude as if I am not a PAYING CUSTOMER! Plus a local at that! I love supporting the small businesses around town and I just donât know if I want to go back. Come to find out a few weeks later, she was the business owner! Ha! Just nuts. Well just a heads up if you plan to do payments, make sure you know what you owe and donât let them change their word, youâre a paying customer at the...
Read moreHonestly disappointed in our experience. My grandmother and family have been bringing our jewelry to Jeff for 20+ years. They initially told us 7-10 days for the work we needed done on my wedding bands. Every time we called for an update we were met with an unprofessional, disgruntled attitude. Every time weâre were updated it was a different story than the last update. Finally, 16 days later they call us to let us know the order is ready. My engagement ring is scratched in multiple places and obviously the work was rushed. Thereâs deep scratches on the head of the ring. They definitely could have spent some time polishing them out. They other ring I had work on, I had a round stone placed into an oval setting (which he said he could do) but when I received it today the round stone isnât even centered in the oval opening. One side of the stone has more space than the other. Overall, just not great craftsmanship. Lacking attention to detail. Staff being rude. When my husband picked up the items one of the ladies yelled across the store âoh thatâs ticket 7403â. Itâs unprofessional to act in such a way. Theyâre a business in customer service. Theyâve been around for ages and have built a good reputation, they should consider how easily a reputation can be tarnished in a small town when you treat people poorly. Not to mention it was expensive. Over $200 to set a stone in a band and put a head on a band and set a stone in it. Had the attention to detail been better the price wouldnât have...

He said he would at the tune of 40 dollars for shipping. I got the watch back 6 weeks later, broken and a fake Cartier crown. He also charged me for a gasket that he said need changing and the cost was 375 dollars. I got back a broken watch from his wife, and scratched up. Shelly said it might need a battery. I told her it does not run on batteries. She did give me a refund and a broken watch back. Jeff called me a day later threatening to call the police, I told him I had already filled a report. Then he said he would take me to court, I hope he does b/c the real Cartier place fixed my watch, it won't run with fake parts, replaced the gasket he charged me for but never did, and gave me back the fake crown with prove that he did not replace the gasket with a letter explaining everything that had to be done for it to run properly, charging me a total of 600. DO NOT TAKE YOUR WATCH IN TO JEFF'S GEMS, even for batteries, he uses inferior products and you have to replace them...
