We were pretty excited that a Mexican restaurant had opened in town that delivered. El Rinconcito had been opened for a while and a couple of days after Christmas, who feels like cooking so we decided to give them a try. Just my wife and I... We ordered the Nachos, a chicken tamale and the enchilada plate. From the time I ordered to delivery on Stock Island, it was about 40 minutes. Very acceptable. The food... Seriously, some of the best Mexican food we've ever had. Authentic would be the best word. Perfectly spiced for flavor and a little heat. The tamale was hand made and wrapped in a banana leaf. (I've had the usual corn husk wrapped but this was perfect as the banana leaf seemed to keep the tamale from drying out!) The tortillas used in the enchiladas appeared home made also so I'm thinking there's no short cuts being taken. The nachos were ordered with the works and they didn't skimp! Across the board, we have zero complaints with one exception. We'd asked for some guacamole on the side but it didn't make the trip.. that's okay as we weren't charged for it either...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stumbled upon El Rinconcito while exploring Key West and were so glad we did! Tucked away in a strip mall with plenty of parking, this quaint little Mexican restaurant exceeded our expectations.
We started with the chicken nachos, which were absolutely delicious ā you can definitely tell they hand-make their corn š½ tortillas. Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off the meal.
For dinner, our family ordered a variety of dishes: Birria Tacos, a hearty šÆ Burrito, a cheesy Quesadilla, and Carne Asada ā everything was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. You could taste the care and authenticity in every bite.
To top it all off, we had the Flan for dessert, and honestly, it might be the best dessert on the island. Smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness ā definitely better than some of the more well-known local dessert staples!!!
Whether you're a local or just visiting, El Rinconcito is a must-try for anyone craving authentic, homemade Mexican food in a cozy setting....

The place was pretty small and crowded but I chose to wait. There was a couple outside so I know the waitress would be periodically checking the couple. She of course comes to check on the couple and I ask you guys have any tables she says give me a few minutes, so I oblige her. While am waiting, I notice several people have left and I see her bring drinks to a couple but doesn't acknowledge me. I go into the building and there are multiple tables available and this guy says ,"you've been outside a minute and it's tables that were...
