Aubergine Home Collection, Inc — Local services in Kiawah Island

I have never witnessed such a grotesque amount of elitism and inhumanity as i did yesterday. (sept 11th 2018). The apparent owner of this business went out of her way to verbally assault a young man who had apparently parked in one of her parking spots for the business. Bearing in mind the location was closed and the entirety of Kiawah and Charleston were under mandatory evacuations due to Hurricane Florence I can't imagine why she decided to make such a spectacle of herself in the parking lot. Based on the way she was speaking to him I was surprised to find how much patience he seem to have in dealing with her. Literally her parking spaces were completely void of cars and the parking lot which she shares with the Kiawah Island General Store was tremendously busy as the General Store was open. If she treats her customers in the same way I don't suspect her business will be open for long... I would like to add in her defense perhaps she is just not from Charleston or even the south for that matter. She may not realize that southern hospitality and politeness are taught like a religion here and maybe her own parents had no interest in teaching her Southern...

For ten years now I have been working with Grace and Joan at Aubergine and they have helped transform my house into a home. Patience is a good word to describe both ladies because I've moved slowly through these years decorating one room at a time. (Time to start over again Ha.) Grace and Joan will get as involved as you wish or will go out of their way to help you do it yourself with suggestions and guidance to keep you from making what could be costly mistakes. When I go into Aubergine I always feel at home, like I'm visiting with family. The store has an ambiance that is inviting. I often come in just to say hi and see what's new (there is always something new). If you have not stopped by Aubergine, treat yourself to a beautiful store and wonderful people. If you are on the hunt for something special and/or specific and Grace doesn't have what you want, she will find it for you! Oh and prices are very reasonable!! I am working with Grace to redecorate my master bedroom, master bathroom, sunroom and guest bedroom at my home on Kiawah Island. Grace and her team at Aubergine have been so delightful to work with! They are easy to talk with, they understand my style and offer great suggestions. Her selection of fabrics, furniture and accessories is top-notch and reasonably priced. I have found several beautiful items right out of her immaculately decorated showroom including a huge pier mirror, capiz shell end table, lamps, art and other accessories. Regarding items that I researched on my own and found online, Grace was able to order for me at a LOWER PRICE than I would have paid online!
