I really hate to write this review, especially after the last year of the pandemic and the hardships it brought on small business. However, I have seen a noticeable decline in the coffee and food here. They nixed half of their menu. Odd because they had a lot of great options before that people loved. It has always been an overpriced place, but for it being the only coffee place in a 10 or so mile radius I understood. Now, the pic of the coffee I attached below is considered a medium coffee? It was $5.50?!? That is absolutely insane. The staff has gotten noticeably ruder too. Not sure if management/ownership has changed? But people who have been going here for years definitely notice it and hope to see the old Java Java come back.

Java Java ……..fresh. Delicious. Unique. Did I say delicious? I’ve never had anything that wasn’t yummy there. Try the greenery sandwich and never, ever leave without a scone (homemade) or an oatmeal cookie. Staff is awesome. Did I say Best cappuccino? ☕️

Stopped in for some breakfast and coffee - we were not disappointed. The service was quick and we really enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches - we picked up a pastry for the road and it was the perfect treat. Definitely check them out!

This is THE place to go for excellent and delicious food for breakfast or lunch - all made to order with fresh ingredients! You will find sandwiches and other entrees that are unique blends of ingredients and so delicious! Drinks are made by very busy baristas - friendly, smiling, efficient and professional.

I have been going there for years and have found the food and drinks consistently first rate. Even when the lines go out the door in the busiest seasons, everyone works fast, helping each other fulfill orders as quickly as possible. And in those busy seasons, there may be a short wait since everything is made to order in a tiny kitchen, (except those wonderful chocolates, cookies and other pastries!). But everyone works so fast and keeps smiling even if a customer gets a little impatient! Go in with high expectations for the wonderful treats Java Java has for you . . .and a big smile - you will not be disappointed! I...

Let's see.... $45 for 2 sandwiches and 2 smoothies? Let's say a bit overpriced and underwhelming. The sandwiches were greasy and not very flavorful. The smoothies were average. Using only cold brew for their latte? No espresso?? I realize a resort location charges more, however, the quality of the product should reflect the price charged. If the food is great and the customer service is also, I have no issue with the price. Remedial customer service training needs to be implemented. The young adults didn't seem as if they wanted to be there, didn't want to be bothered by customers, and in return made us feel very unwelcome. Being a local, I expect much better. I would not return. I don't really want to have breakfast with Squidward or Oscar the grouch. I'd rather start my day with smiles...

Java Java is the image of what a small town coffee shop should look and feel like. The space is unique and a little cramped when busy, but offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for the crowd size. You can order breakfast dishes, pick from a selection of sweets behind the glass, and of course order from an assortment of coffees. With it being hot outside, I tried a frozen mocha latte, which was like a coffee milkshake and really good! I also had the savory croissant with egg, cheese, and pork sausage, which was delicious. Only small downside was the chocolate crunch bar we had wasn't the best, but still serviceable.

If price is a factor for you, it isn't cheap here, nor is it outrageous, especially when compared to other Kiawah Island...
