Rent-A-Center — Local services in Knightdale

I paid off my account in full at the end of September and over two months later I saw a charge on my debit card from rent-a-center ( which by the way I never authorized automatic payments in the first place which is another issue). I immediately called and after several attempts spoke with the manager who told me that they COULD NOT FIND MY LAST PAYMENT WHICH WAS OVER $400!!! Luckily I paid with my debit card and have a bank statement to prove a payment was indeed made, but now I have to call the corporate office on Monday to prove I made this payment and wait to get refunded a payment that was never authorized! Not only that, she told me that payments were being made on my account all along which means someone else’s payments were going into the wrong account which is what probably happened to my payment. I have been renting items from the Knightdale location for many years. I have purchased a washing machine, dryer, dining room table and chairs, glass top stove, pack man gaming system, laptop, cell phone and a power lift chair. The merchandise is always to my satisfaction or better, the pricing and payment options are phenomenal and the best part is the customer service. The people that work there are amazing and have great customer service skills. Would not recommend this RAC to my enemy. Tom the manager, is rude and does not care about his job. 2 days after having my dresser it wouldn't open. They built my dresser in such a hurry they stripped the screws. Had to order me a new one. 2 weeks later, no word or update. I had to call corporate, everything. Turns out they had my dresser, just didn't care to let me know that it was there. My payment is one day late today (intentionally, due to me not having my dresser) and ring a Ling guess who is calling..RAC. Outrageous!!
