UPDATE: July 2024 Google only allows one active review per account so this is the review for my second cake from Cake Town Bakery.
Tracy knocked it out of the park, again! This time I got a strawberry cake with cream cheese buttercream for my nieceâs 16th birthday. I gave Tracy complete artistic freedom again; I just sent the party invite to her for inspiration and told her itâs Taylor Swift themed. The white cake in the photos is what she delivered and it looked SO amazing!! Note that the edible image is only blurry in the pics that I posted because I blurred out my niece. Donât know if you heard, but thereâs creeps on the internet! When I picked up the cake Jason helped me and explained how everything I needed to know regarding refrigeration and the edible image. The cake was so tasty!! There were vanilla and chocolate cupcakes at the party as well and not a single person touched them, they all wanted this cake. Everyone kept talking about how great it tasted.
Original Review: October 2023 I highly recommend Cake Town Bakery! The cake was PHENOMENAL!!! I found out about Cake Town Bakery through Rewind Retro Bar's Instagram page. Based on the gallery photos on Cake Town's website I knew this was who I wanted to make my spouse's 40th Birthday cake. Jason walked me through cake sizes, servings, flavors, what information would be needed for the cake order, how to place the cake order by email, and payment. A deposit of half is required within 48 hours of order confirmation/invoicing then the rest is due 7 days prior to pick up. I ordered a 10" Funfetti Cake with Strawberry Buttercream filling. I largely gave Tracy, the owner/baker, creative freedom. My only requests were that the buttercream on the outside be lime green or white and for 80s/90s Geometric Shapes/Lines and bright colors be used. Tracy nailed it! The whole look was perfect for the 80s/90s themed party and it tasted amazing! I wish I had taken a picture of the whole cake in better lighting, but I ended up busy and forgot to. The brightest picture I uploaded is from when I pulled a portion out of the freezer the next day and let it thaw, which is why there is condensation on it. I will definitely be going back to Cake Town...
Read moreI would NOT recommend this bakery to a friend. I purchased a coffee cake and pineapple coconut cupcakes for $13. The coffee cake was 100% bland. It really didn't have much flavor to it whatsoever. The flavor wasn't swirled throughout the cake like a coffee cake should be, it was like layered. Large slice of cake, very thin thin layer of the cinnamon stuff, and then another decent size of cake directly on top. In my personal opinion, this item is not worth $7. It doesn't taste like a coffee cake, it just taste like a dry cake without a defined flavor. Its a large piece of coffee cake. I was only able to eat maybe a 4th or less before I had to throw it away. It was very flavorless, very dry, really just not appealing, unfortunately. I hoped the cupcakes would make up for the coffee cake. They are quite small for an average sized cupcake, and 2 small cupcakes were $7.50. The cupcakes were better, but still not great. Cupcake was soft and had more flavor than the coffee cake, but certainly didnt have the defined pineapple or coconut flavor one would expect from a pineapple/coconut cupcake. I couldn't really define either flavor if I'm being honest. You could just taste the coconut bits within the batter, and there was a super tiny piece of pineapple in the center. I would say the cupcake is a better choice than the cake if you're looking for 'flavor', but they dont seem to have good flavor definition in their items from what I've seen, unfortunately. Both items I ordered did not actually taste like what they were supposed to be. I would say, the TikTok's have gotten this place overrated. But unfortunately, the baked goods are just simply not that good here. This is my second experience at this establishment and both times the items were just really not that good. Everything lacks flavor and definition,...
   Read moreHello, consumer world!
I must say, my husband discovered this place on Instagram and we just had to try itâweâd never heard of it before. It truly is a hidden gem tucked away in a plaza that shines in its own way.
The standouts for us are the nana pudding and pound cakes. Of course, taste is subjective, so donât just take my word for itâthis is simply my opinion after trying several items. The shop itself is quaint, cozy, and invitingâa great place to grab a coffee, a treat, and relax or catch up with friends.
One thing I really appreciated was their discounts for military, first responders, and teachersâa thoughtful touch. The staff was friendly, and I had great interactions with both the gentleman and the lady with red hair. They seemed to take real pride in the business (Iâm not sure who owns it), and the customer service definitely reflected that. My first visit was a pleasant and memorable one!
Now, on to a bit of constructive feedback:
Itâs disappointing that the nana pudding is only available Fridays and Saturdays. Unfortunately, my husband had a less-than-stellar experience last Friday. He doesnât usually like leaving the house, but made the trip (baby in tow!) just to grab some pudding and cakes. He said a young ladyânot the usual friendly crewâwas short and had an attitude, telling him, âWeâre closing soon!â and âWe donât have any more!â No greeting, no courtesyâjust abrupt. Thatâs disappointing. We go out of our wayâ25 minutesâto support this small business, but poor customer service is a deal breaker for us. Overall, itâs worth a try! Iâm sure youâll find your...
