Pass or Fail by Kat. A Restaurant or Customer Service Review. Terrible. The guy who seated us threw the menus on a table and kept walking. Whaaaa? The first waitress did not know English and no one seemed too interested in us for a bit. As for the food and chips & salsa to start… • The red salsa seemed processed (from a can) and had no heat. • We asked for green salsa instead, and it definitely had heat but no flavor. • We ordered 2 chicken Tostados Dona and was so disappointed. It had large chunks of lettuce rather than shredded, and they chose to add items not described on menu. I asked if this was bagged salad, but was told no. Could have fooled me. Also, it had large chunks of chicken that should have been shredded, and the chicken seemed boiled and flavorless. Furthermore, the bottom of the salad inside the shell was watery from the chicken. • The food prep time was fine. • We spoke to the Mgr and he seemed receptive to our comments but didn’t seem interested in changing or correcting anything. Hence, the 2 Stars, and 1 goes for the dining area being nicely decorated for Halloween. • My guest said to never take her there again. I’ve come to this restaurant on and off even before they were Mexico 1900. The last couple of years though, it seems as if the mgr is always brusque and curt. They could lean to note; Warmth to all customers goes a long way. As a result of the overall dining experience, I seriously resented having to pay $42 for 2 horrible salads and 2 soft drinks. This place has been a great go to spot in La Mirada for years now but unfortunately it has not been consistent lately. You walk in and you are greeted by friendly staff. The interior gives Mexican Family restaurant vibes with traditional paintings and the Copa playing on the TV. My go to Steak Picado was a bit overcooked and lacking some seasoning. My wife ordered the flautas and they were "pretty good." The guacamole, chips, and salsa has been known to be fire but lately they have been lacking. The service was friendly as always but for being a slow dinner night they did take a while to come around to check for refills and even to pick up and drop off the check. The last time we went here was when I was a little kid. I kind of forgot about this place and we went here for my birthday! I wanted to try out some of our local businesses ! It looks like they have renovated the whole center which is nice! I was delighted with how nice this place really was! The service is very kind and professional! The atmosphere is nice and homely. The seats are comfy! The prices are more reasonable than other Mexican places like El Cholo. The free chips and salsa was so tasty!! And the main meal was soooo good! I ate everything up! They gave us a free dessert like cinnamon chips and free candy! I think we found ourselves the new family Mexican joint to go to!! We will be back and I'm telling all my friends and family to come !
