My partner and I have been seeing this burger spot all over socials for a while, and we finally decided to try it.
Parking: Free parking. They’re located in a compact spot. Finding parking can be a hit or miss, but we were lucky with an open spot.
Ambiance/Environment: We visited on a Saturday, and they had a consistent flow of customers. They have plenty of indoor seating. No outdoor seating. Very modern, clean, and definitely new. This spot is great for large groups and hangouts. I really like their open kitchen concept. You can see all the cooks preparing each item.
Service: The cashier was nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. The cooks were quick and efficient. Throughput was approximately 5 minutes.
What we ordered: Krunch Burgers is definitely better than in n out. Their menu is simple like in n out, but they definitely offer more. They also had a secret menu, so best believe I tried some menu items from that. You can adjust each burger to your liking, of course. You can also adjust the spice level from angry (mild), extra angry (spicy), pissed off (very spicy). They make their own sauces and pickles in house, so I had to grab one of each to try them all lol!
Krunch Burger, single, angry, with cheese - This is the BEST smash burger I’ve ever had! They’re very generous with the cheese. The patty was seasoned well and definitely crunchy. The toppings all went well together, and the jalapeños were angry (mild).
Hamburger, double, extra angry, with mushrooms - My partner is lactose intolerant, so we ordered a smash burger without cheese. The patty was still seasoned well and crunchy. The mushrooms were delicious, but their home made sauce made the burger taste even more mouth watering. We dipped the burger in one of their sauces that tasted exactly like Canes’ sauce (I forgot the name of the sauce).
Triple (without buns) on a bed of lettuce, extra angry - Not only is my partner lactose intolerant, but he also eats for a family. He inquired about protein style or lettuce wrap burger; unfortunately they do not have that exactly. Though, they do place their patties on a bed of lettuce with the act same toppings. My partnered enjoyed it, as he devoured it in 2 minutes.
Bobby’s Dirty Fries (secret menu) - House seasoned fries topped with cheese, onions, and jalapeños. Wayyy better than animal style fries from in n out! I will say they were a bit salty, but we still enjoyed them! Once again, they’re very generous with the cheese and the jalapeños gave it an extra umf.
Oreo Milkshake (secret menu) - This is one of their newest secret menu items. I love Oreos, and this milkshake hit the spot. Satisfied my sweet tooth after all the savory goodness.
Pricing: I’d say it’s affordable and worth its price! My partner and I left fulfilled...
Read moreSo, I wanted a regular classic burger to get an idea of the food quality at this new joint. I ordered a hamburger single to go with no pickles or mayo and grilled onions but I forgot to order it with cheese. I thought "no worries" since I don't always eat my burgers with cheese but I still get full so it shouldn't be a problem.
This is what I got. Seriously wishing I had ordered In-N-out or McDonalds. A dry, thin, unappetizing patty that was beyond smashed with crunchy sharp edges and no lettuce, tomato or ketchup. For the price I thought it would have been included even if it wasn't specifically mentioned on the menu but no. Most burger joints have add ons, but really? For lettuce and tomato? Those should just be included, period. what else adds padding and substance to a plain burger? Mushrooms, pickles, cheese? Nah. The mushroom burger to me looked unappetizingly greasy and I just wanted something typical and fresh. This particular burger did not deliver even the basics.
I know now that I would have been dissapointed even if I had ordered it regular (with cheese, pickles and mayo) because it's just not loaded enough. I honestly don't know why the single patty is even an option, it can't possibly fill any grown adult. Maybe have it on a separate kids menu or something. The small amount of grilled onions on my sad burger were still semi raw too. People on here saying how good the pickles are, I could care less, I came for a burger. The burger should be the star and the pickles the supporting actor.
I'm all for supporting local businesses and I want them to thrive so I'll probably give them another chance at some point, but this is where I stand after my first...
Read moreI break rules all the time, but this one is a big deal. This is a hole in the wall burger joint and I just gave it five stars! I haven't run across something this amazing in a long time. Hidden in the corner of a tiny shopping center in La Mirada, with very little parking and a Mexican restaurant next door is Krunch Burger, and you need to go try this place.
I can tell you, the burgers here are smashed, if you order cheese it is a blend and expect a little burnt cheese. You want pickles, yeah they have them and they come in various levels of hot. Bacon, don't expect one lonely slice, expect to get bacon on your burger. Sauces? Oh my, you could spend an hour deciding there are so many and right there to chose from.
Buns are tasty, not the star but properly tasted to stand up to the juicy burger and the sauces. And a friendly staff to explain it all to you. Coke products on the fountain, but why not have a spindled Milk Shake instead.
The fries are a little bigger than shoe string, crispy and salted with one of their shake blends. Oh yes you can buy the blends, jars of the pickles. Any of the sauces. And all of them hand bottled their.
Look this food is great. So good we had to take the time to talk to the owners, a husband and wife team that obviously have the chops to take on a small out of the way space and create something that will bring people back time and time again. The parking sucks. Lunch lines are long. What else do you...
