We purchased an expensive Miele column wine fridge from WDC. The installers had no idea what they were doing and did not consult the installation guide at any point. They damaged parts in the process and completely failed to install some of the key parts and adequately secure the fridge.
After numerous phone calls and emails (since April 2025)-- where I was promised the store manager would get back to me or my sales associate, David (who couldn't even spell my name correctly), claimed he was waiting to hear back from Miele--went nowhere, I called Miele directly.
Miele sent out their technician free of charge to fix all the installation issues and order the replacement parts. From the time I contacted Miele to today, it has taken less than a month to resolve. Unfortunately, both WDC and Pacific Sales in the desert have poor installers and poor service, so it is a pick-your-poison situation.
If you have to buy from either, go with an independent installer who specializes in your brand and is approved by the manufacturer. Reading some of the other installation horror stories here tells me this is a common problem with WDC. I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB for the $230. installation charge since they never completed the installation correctly.
Edit in response to WDC's comment: I reached out more than ten times to the store directly and to the sales associate and was promised follow-ups that never happened. At one point, I was even lied to and told that there was no store manager. What are the excuses for the store manager not returning calls? No one took over David's work for over five months?! You must think people are stupid if you expect anyone to believe this.
Claiming that everything was done correctly is doubling down on your lies. First, you don't even know what was done incorrectly because you never followed up. Second, my concern has nothing to do with the custom panel install which was done by my cabinet installer. Third, Miele has the records from their technician that outlines all of the errors and damages, the most pronounced being the outright failure to adequately secure the unit which your "pictures" wouldn't capture.
I did receive a call from a store manager yesterday, but only after my negative review here and through the BBB. Folks deserve to know that you only respond when negative reviews are provided and then you lie and...
Read moreTerrible experience with the installers.1)They ripped out part of the cabinet trim when they removed my previous dishwasher and did not tell me. (I could only see the damage when I opened the dishwasher door after they left.) 2) It turns out the Miele plug -- which is a weird size -- would not work with the outlet under the sink without disconnecting the garbage disposal. Instead of consulting with me when they recognized the problem, they installed the dishwasher and told me to run an extension cord across my kitchen when I needed to do dishes. This is a $2,000 dishwasher, and I'm supposed to run an extension cord across my kitchen when I need to do dishes? They also told me that using an extension cord would probably void the warranty, so I should pay an electrician several hundred dollars to come out and install a four-outlet receptacle. (Incidentally, we've had Bosch and GE dishwashers plugged into this receptacle without an issue. Why didn't someone in sales tell us we might have a problem with this unusual Miele plug?) Before the installers left, I noted there was a huge gap along one side of the dishwasher. They told me that our niche was too big and we should have a carpenter come fill it in. The niche wasn't too big before they ripped out a one inch wide piece of trim!!! The missing trim made the niche too big. The last straw was this morning. The installers didn't properly attach the dishwasher to the cabinet, so the dishwasher walked out from its niche overnight while it was operating. I had to push the heavy appliance back into place just to I could make breakfast. There are bent and broken screws from where they had screwed the dishwasher into the cabinet. Oh, and none of the silverware was clean -- courtesy of a $2000 dishwasher. Do not use these people....
Read moreJennifer was very nice when I first contacted her about a new dish washer. She went over details on each and recommended one that she, herself, said she owned.
Knowing that smaller businesses have more difficulties than the box box stores, I always try to buy local because they seem to want to try harder to get and keep your business. WDC does not subscribe to this philosophy.
The installer who arrived broke both of the water shut off valves under the sink that had just been accessed and assessed the day before by a plumber who was installing an air flow gap required for this install. The dishwasher itself is well off center, and the kick plate was never installed.
I emailed Jennifer back, never received a response. Called the store to be told that she would be unavailable for the next few days. Was redirected to customer care, who never answered, but was directed by the phone message to email customer care. Forwarded all my emails to customer care with no response. Finally when I threatened legal action I was contacted.
At this time, they have denied me the money for the plumber to return to be able to have water restored to the house again, have stated that if I take legal action they will not continue with the replacement of the kick plate or the centering of the dishwasher.
As a disabled senior, the way they have treated me is abysmal and I can not in good conscience let them do this to anyone...
