It's a pity that this Five Below business is unclaimed, because they are missing out on all 5 star reviews (including mine!). I had never been into a Five Below and had no idea what they sold. I was picking up fancy refrigerated dog food next door at PetSmart and thought I'd wander in and see what they sold. Was it refrigerated items? The name Five Below made me wonder. As I popped in, a very friendly guy said hello and welcomed me, but not in an insincere way. (I'm always a bit sus about that) I started to realize this was an upgraded 99 Cent store with a $5 limit, and was curious to explore. I really responded well to the nice lighting, cool oversized signage and clean feel of the store. I saw items that are at better prices than other stores, but I wondered how people knew what to purchase here. I think you must just go in and endeavor to buy stuff you would normally buy elsewhere for more. Although I left without a purchase, I will go back when I want to stock up on items we regularly use. Also, the guy that works there literally had his teeth sparkle when he said thank you for visiting us - I'm easily swayed by genuine...

Just left the store feeling deeply disheartened and frustrated. While browsing, an older white woman working at the front took a small toy back from my 4 year old son, claiming it needed to be paid in the front because it was a “$5 collectible.”

Let me be clear—I’m a Hispanic mother of three young children. Her actions felt less like policy and more like profiling. She justified it by saying the store has high theft rates, implying that my small child might be stealing. I didn’t hear her or see her discuss this with anyone else while we were there.

I understand the store may be dealing with theft, but don’t take that out on families like mine. I come here to shop with my children for fun—you work here for a living.

In today’s climate of heightened racial tension and division, what happened felt wrong and to add insult to injury, I found the exact same toy in the toy section… and yes, it was $5. Picture provided.

I bring my kids here because most of these toys eventually get tossed, and it makes for a simple outing. But after this experience, we won’t be...

This lady manager named Lisa was very rude to me and that she told me that she didn't have an item and I knew she had the item and then I came back a second time and I knew they had an item that I needed and she said no we don't have it and I went back to go look for it and they did have it. This lady Lisa was very rude to me and I told her I've been coming in this store for 2 months ever since it open and I've never been treated like this in my...
