If you need Japanese food items, this is the market for you. I lived in Japan for many years, and I am always glad to roll into Lafayette and pop into Asian Market. It has various kinds of mochi (yomogi, or mugwort; black sesame seed; and plain) with azuki bean filling; 2 liter plastic bottles of Ito-en tea, including Hojicha (roasted green tea); matcha in two grades by Maeda-en; matcha Kit Kat cookies; nori; various kinds of soba; rice in packs for the microwave, including a new and fabulous find: multigrain Korean rice in the pack; and condiments.
