My teenage daughter and I came in half an hour before closing on 2/6/2022 to buy her a pair of basketball shoes. She needed them for the next day and, in true teenage form, didn't tell me she needed them until the stores were all almost closed (her current trainers shrunk overnight apparently). We had to drive half an hour to get to this store because it was the closest Kohl's with the largest supply of athletic shoes. There were so many options and styles to choose from! The store was so clean and well kept. Definitly worth the drive.
The employees were so kind and supportive to her at checkout which was very much appreciated. It was exactly closing time and they didn't treat us in a rushed or irritated fashion. Elsie was feeling very nervous and insecure about starting a sport she has no experience in therefore she was very stressed about buying the "perfect" shoes and it showed. They complimented her on her shoe choice and were pumping her up about how nice they were!
Please tell the gals at the front we are so grateful for this positive retail experience (which is hard to come across...
Read moreThe woman who checked us out (I believe her name was Christy) was fabulous. She was kind, conversational, and helpful. Her manager, Machel, however, was rude, unkind to her employees, and nearly soured the entire experience. The cashier ran into an issue when my mom tried to pay off her charge payment with her debit card. She immediately called the manager over for assistance who berated her upon her arrival. Not only was this uncalled for, it was extremely unprofessional behavior in front of store guests. I fully understand that this is a busy time of year, and stress levels are high. I'm sure they have many seasonal employees who may not be as quick-paced as seasoned workers. That being said, I would take a little more time with someone who was kind and helpful over someone quick and outwardly rude any day of the week. If management is reading this, please consider giving Machel some lessons in customer service and management. Her behavior was enough that my mom and I will consider...
Read moreTheir men's department is a joke, with huge gaps in size ranges. Their "Big & Tall" section should change their name to simply "Big", as their is literally nothing for tall men there. / Kohls used to be my go-to store for slacks/shirts/jackets for my professional life... but now, like so many other retailers, they have switched their focus to sports jerseys, skinny jeans for teenagers, shorts and tshirts. After several trips there, I have given up trying to find "real adult clothing" there. Finally, I used to regularly shop Kohls for reasonably priced professional clothing. They used to have regular sales that made their reasonable prices even better...but no more. They are soooo expensive now! For example, I needed a simple leather belt... The least expensive one they had was $25! ... So, (as much as I hated going there) I walked next door to Walmart and bought one of equal value for just $10. As far as I am concerned, Kohls has lost a previously...
