*This review is regarding what happened over the past week, but came to a conclusion today at this location's pharmacy. *However, it should be noted that as someone who has had severe health issues for years, thus a lot of medications, I have found all Walgreen Pharmacies (at least in the front range area of Colorado) to be a shell of anything efficient or reasonable. *The only reason I give 2 stars is because if you transfer in established prescriptions, and use the browser to check on them and not the app, and you need nothing else, you can get along ok.
Long story short, my son was prescribed a new medication. The doc first put in a week's worth, but Walgreens notified them that my insurance wouldn't allow less than 30 days. Then the doc wrote a new script, and then Walgreens came back saying my insurance was needing a new Pre-Auth for the 30 day. Fine, they did that. - THIS IS ALL PERFECTLY NORMAL, PART OF THE GAME- Just keep in mind there are plenty of calls/communications going back and forth between myself, the doc, and Walgreens over a little less than a week.
Yesterday, they say they have everything both to me and in another call with the doc office. I then get an email, a text, and an automated call letting me know that the medicine is out of stock but is ordered. Cut to just now when one of the pharmacy employees calls me to tell me that Walgreens does not carry the med at all. They cannot order it. The person on the phone is nonchalant, flat, offers no apology for the time wasted while my child is waiting to get on this medication. When I ask if this person has any recommendations, I'm told no but does offer the most insightful suggestion: "Look around"
I am not mad that they don't carry the product. That is fine. I am however pissed that they made me and the doc jump through hoops and ran stuff by my insurance without stopping once and going, "Hmmmm, do we even carry this?" How absolutely asinine of a system does @Walgreens have that this pivotal bit of info isn't there in the pre-auth O.O.O. since if someone has to change pharmacies, often there will need to be a new script sent? Or, is it no one in this location was taught to look? IDK. The tone of the call I just received that it probably doesn't matter to anyone...

"I constantly have to drive to multiple stores to get my medications, THEN shop for personal party pizzas, and pick up sandles. It's a full-time gig! I dont have time to sleep, I have to sojourn for $3 blue rays at a store around the corner, "Paul said. "I dont get how you do it, Albert. Do you click your chaffed elbows and create a place where I can get knee bandages for my mom AND balloons for your cousin's graduation?" Paul made himself laugh there at the impossibility of it all as they putzed into Walgreens.
The lights flickered and dimmed. A din of light bulb electricity and lyrics of old Scorpian songs filled the air. Albert's brow furrowed, and his eyes grasped Pauls. Sweat permeated Albert's skin as he said, "Let my words be a whetstone to your blade, dull and chipped from your journey as it may be. Let it find purchase upon my sayings. You may tarry here ALL THAT YOU LIKE as you wait 45m for your medications and browse the varied ice creams. this is your delight. this is your temple. this is a brown building... no.... factory of solutions that offers you sharpness!!! Come. See. The varied soups. OBSERVE the off brand toys. This is your salve, my friend. Strike! Strike! Strike and cut through time as you no longer require multiple trips to multiple stores. Slice through and gaze!!!", Albert said. Tears streamed out of Paul's eyes as he picked up reading glasses, cortizone, and milk. "I will no...
Read moreThis is hands-down the worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. This week they were out of my prescription, after assuring me it would be in stock and ready to be picked up before they close early today and for the rest of the weekend. It's not ready, and it's impossible to get through on the phone and the line is always extremely long. I'm out of my prescription now and can't reach my doctor to transfer the prescription until Monday. Last month, we went to pick up my husband's prescription on a Saturday, and guess what! They're closed even though posted hours say otherwise. Then after being a week late filling my prescription claiming an issue with a prior authorization, and several calls back and fourth between my insurance, doctor, and the pharmacy, I found out they had just entered it wrong in the system. My doctor called me on a Saturday morning to tell me this pharmacy is unbelievably incompetent and to switch ASAP. I would have done so sooner but I can walk to this pharmacy so wanted to try to make it work. I'm writing this as I'm waiting on hold with them right now, the 3rd time I've tried to call today and I've already waited 20 minutes. This is only a few of the many times they've messed up. I'm definitely switching now even if it means I have to drive to Erie. AVOID...
